Podere Leccetino di Sotto is a restored farmhouse set in a peaceful valley just outside the historic Etruscan city of Volterra, Tuscany. Volterra is a real gem with excellent restaurants serving local Tuscan specialities, museums and wonderful views of the rolling hills and distant mountains. It is renowned for its Alabaster sculpting and there are plenty of workshops with craftspeople displaying their skills throughout the town.
There is a market every Saturday morning selling local produce in the town where you will also find banks and supermarkets.
Volterra is a great base for exploring Tuscany with its many lovely hill top towns. Florence, Pisa, Siena and Lucca all relatively close and within easy reach. The closests beaches of Cecina and Bobina are a 35 minute drive and for those prepared to travel a little longer there are some beautiful costal towns well worth exploring.
