Become temporary an athenian

For those who plan a citytrip to Athens and thereby want to taste the typical greek atmosphere, rather than to stay in the tedious, stereotypic environment of a hotel, I can recommend Christophers appartment. This comfortable, clean, well looking residence is situated in a lively part of the city. As it is close to the Ambelokipi metro station, it allows easy access to either touristic sites, the main bus and train stations or the the airport. It has a well equipped kitchen and grocery and bakery are just behind the corner. But even for those who do not prefer self-cooking, there are a lot of small taverna's, ouzeries or café's, frequented mainly by greeks, where one can eat and drink on democratic prices, while observing the busy life in the surrounding small streets. To drink a frappé or a beer with some friends, one may choose a table on a pleasant shaded plaza near the frequently visited orthodox church at the end of the street or near the beautiful concert hall Megaro Mousikis which is at walking distance.
The fact that the appartment is semi-basement and hence has no direct view on the street, might only be annoying for those who are used to be ascertained of the weather of the day as soon as they awake. For whatever helpful information, there is always Christopher who remains always approachable to give an answer to your questions.
A couple of days living in this area may transform you partly in an athenian. Whether you travel alone - as I did - or with friends or with your family, it is worthwile to try it!
