Casa Violetta is located in the hills above Uzzano Castello overlooking Pescia and Lucca. It is some 420m above sea level and in the summer enjoys a temperature refreshingly 2-3C lower than the temperatures in the town below. Driving time to Pescia is 15 minutes down a picturesque, well made but winding and narrow road. Driving times to various tourist locations are
Lucca - 30 minutes, Florence - 50 minutes, Pisa Airport - 50 minutes,
Mediterranean coast at Viareggio about 1 hour, Siena about 1 hour, Volterra about 1 hour.
Pescia sits on the river of the same name and is famous as a European centre for flower growing and paper making. It is surrounded by wooded hills dotted with villas (one of which is Casa Violetta).
North of Pescia is a region known as 'Svizzera Pesciatina' or Pescia's Switzerland. It is a hilly region with winding roads to explore among the pine and chestnut forests where you'll find restaurants and bars to enjoy in the many villages.
