A popular village with good local amenities, including a wide selection of restaurants and bars, unlike many of the coastal resorts, which empty during the winter months, Santa Maria has a year round community, of locals and overseas residents, and a wide selection of winter fiesta´s to enjoy, from the celebrations at the end of the wine harvest to the charming Three Kings, marking the final days of Christmas as the wise men arrive with their gifts for the village children, and local craft fairs throughout the year. The weekly Sunday morning market draws locals and visitors alike from across the island, to brows and buy local produce and taken in the atmosphere of a real Mallorcan village. Its central location makes it ideal, for visiting the capital Palma de Mallorca, via the regular local train service, taking less than 20 minutes. Or touring the island, either to play golf, go hiking, touring by bicycle or just enjoying the local beaches.
