About Courchevel Le Praz:
Traditional, friendly and on the doorstep of the world famous Three Valleys Ski area, Le Praz has lost none of its alpine village charm on its way to becoming a hugely popular destination.
With two modern bubble lifts taking you directly to the heart of the ski area, it's a perfect base.
If you're looking to get the mix right for bars and restaurants, live music, apres ski and a friendly atmosphere, you couldn't be in a better spot.
We love Le Praz because, in spite of being in one of the most exclusive resorts in the world, it's still a traditional village. Children go to school, shops sell local produce, tourists and locals share spaces in the ski lifts and at the bars...
The Three Valleys ski area:
Le Praz is the gateway to the Three Valleys where 200 ski lifts and thousands of personnel keep over 600km of groomed pistes in top condition. The terrain caters for all levels of ability from long, wide groomed pistes and easy lifts to challenging mogul fields, steep couloirs and bags of off piste for those mighty powder days.
For snowboarders, the snow parks of Courchevel and Meribel are among the best in Europe whilst the varying terrain means that you can always pick a route that won't involve hiking around the mountain!
Walking and cross country skiing tracks wind their way through the woodlands and around the ice-covered lakes, popping out to discover fantastic views or watch the downhill pistes. A modern system of bubble lifts and cable cars allow access to the highest peaks, even on foot.
We are based 400 metres from the bubble lift which takes you straight up into Courchevel 1850 - the central lift station and unbeatable skiing!
Food and Drink:
You need some good hearty nosh to keep you going all day on the slopes but we hope that you'll enjoy a bit of adventure for your tastebuds too.
Good food needs good wine so we've teamed up with legendary British Alpine wine buff, Sam Owens of Le Verre Gourmand to ensure that we have the perfect accompaniment to every dish waiting for you in the cellar or chilling in the fridge.
We aim to serve plenty of what is fresh and local, because of the abundance of great food in the Savoyarde region. We buy meat from the local butcher in Le Praz and source our cheeses from local suppliers. We also bring to the Alps a taste of the Ardeche region, with our very own jams from the gardens of our summer gites and tapenades with olives from the trees from the surrounding area.
