The Mulino-Rotone is an antique building from the 16th century, made of natural stone. It is one of the oldest buildings in the neighbourhood and the oldest oil and four mill of the region Castagneto- Carducci. The spacious house belonged to earl Gherardesca and accommodated in the the old times 5 farmer families that were responsible for the mill and for the agriculture. Nowadays, the Mulino-Rotone belongs to the German painter and writer Karin von Jutrzenka Trzebiatowski-Gilliam, that lives in the wonderfully restored house all the year round and she is also the contact person for the guests. The house contains 5 individually equipped apartments of different size, as well as 2 guestrooms. It is lovingly restored, the charm of the old wood truss ceilings, the cross-shaped vaults and the terracotta floor was maintained. In Mulino-Rotone there is a 120 m2 hall with cross-shaped vaults and excellent acoustics for concerts and parties.

Apartment 2 has ca. 150 m², bathrooms, big eat-in kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a 2 floor living- and bedroom with 5 further places to sleep in. The apartment has an entrance at-grade, it is spacious and partially furnished with antique furniture. It has terracotta and wood floor, as well as the specific wood truss ceilings.

The house is located in the protected area of Castagneto, in the Alta Maremma, between the picturesque and well known medieval town Castagneto-Carducci, which is located on a hill, less than 1 km away, and the sea of Liguria: 56 km southward from Livorno, 50 minutes from the airport in Pisa. The building is surrounded by a big garden with lots of flowers, oleander, hibiscus and laurel hedges, cypress and palm trees, neighbouring a small orchard, an olive grove and a kilometres large cork oak woods. It has a quiet location. There is a private path to the property. There is no traffic to bother. The garden and the terraces are equipped with many couches and canvas chairs, dining tables and barbecue. The house is built in such a way, that the guests cannot bother each other.
