North Cyprus is the Mediterranean’s best kept secret. It’s slow pace of life, value for money and gorgeous setting make it an ideal get away for every season. It has an ideal climate with warm, dry summers and mild winters, and an average of 300 days of sunshine a year. Overlooked by St Hilarion Castle with extraordinary views of the northern coastline, the beautifully restored village of Karmi is inhabited mostly by expats. The village has its own market, art gallery, pub and a fabulous restaurant, Levant. Nearby Kyrenia is teeming with shops where you can buy local handicrafts such as Lefkara embroidery, carpets, baskets and pottery. And of course, there are cafes, taverns and casinos where you can enjoy the local beer, wine and cuisine! The area is steeped in history providing many sites such as castles, abbeys, and a shipwreck museum to explore. For the adventurous, there are nature walks, water sports, diving, golf and even para-gliding all amongst the stunning mountains and sea.
