Villa Xanadu is located in the idyllic and picturesque mountain village Karmi/Karaman in the Kyrenia region of Northern Cyprus. This historic Cypriot villa has 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths and a large fully equipped kitchen. The sofa in the sitting room also folds out into a double bed. Ceiling fans in every room and 2 foot thick walls keep the villa cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The kitchen, living/dining area and large terrace are on the entry level and the bedrooms and baths are on the lower level. Each bedroom has French doors that open onto the lower terrace all with phenomenal views of the Mediterranean. The upper and lower levels are connected by a spiral staircase. While the villa is comfortable and charming,the real draw is the large upper terrace with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. On a clear day, you can sit and look at the mountains of Turkey across a wide expanse of deep blue sea. The villa sits in a large garden with olive, almond and citrus trees.

Nearby Kyrenia is teeming with shops where you can buy local handicrafts such as Lefkara embroidery, carpets, baskets and pottery. And of course, there are cafes, taverns and casinos where you can enjoy the local beer, wine and cuisine! The area is steeped in history providing many sites such as castles, abbeys, and a shipwreck museum to explore. For the adventurous, there are nature walks, water sports, diving, golf and even para-gliding all amongst the stunning mountains and sea.

The Village: The village of Karmi has the enviable advantage of being perched on the side of a mountain, overlooked by historic St Hilarion Castle and gazing out across the pristine whitewash of the buildings of Kyrenia to the sapphire blue waters of the Mediterannean sea. While this lovingly restored village is inhabited mostly by expats, it maintains the charm and simplicity that only a village in the Mediterranean can. Karmi has its own market, art gallery, pub and a fabulous restaurant/bar called Levant which is open for lunch and dinner six days a week. Beautiful mountain hikes are just a step outside the door and the nearest beach is only a 20 minute drive. Whether you live here year round or are just here for a weeks holiday, Karmi invites you in and makes you feel very welcome!
