O Pomar is a resort with a village atmosphere incorporating modern amenities for making your holiday as easy and enjoyable as possible. Portuguese and Mediterranean influences abound within the park-like gardens planted with orange, almond, olive and fig trees. OPomar has been created with a central village square and separate areas for sports and leisure are located around the resort. Included are 3 swimming pools, children's play area, parkland cycling paths, cafe and shops. This is definitely a great place to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity but within a fun, family atmosphere. Couple this with wonderful accommodation and your holiday will be no less than perfect! The 2 apartments are beautifully finished and furnished with love and care. Spacious, bright and airy, the facilities are luxurious and comfortable. Each bedroom has en suite bathroom, the lounge has BBC Freeview TV/DVD and the balcony faces South to the sea to give wonderfully relaxing views.

The apartment is first floor and accessed via a security door leading to a stairs or lift. Deceptively spacious and lovingly furnished with good quality fixtures and fittings modern in style, this apartment offers its guests a very comfortable stay. The kitchen has modern appliances including dishwasher,washing machine and tumble dryer. The lounge has soft seating (incl. sofa bed) along with table and chairs for dining. TV and DVD player are provided with BBC Freeview Channels. The 2 bedrooms are double and twin and both have beautiful ensuite bathrooms, with a 3rd house bathroom in addition. For your added comfort, all rooms are air conditioned, and for the cooler winter months there is underfloor heating. To the outside, there is underground parking with own space and a lovely balcony, sea facing with table and chairs to dine al-fresco or simply sit and relax and soak up the views. O Pomar Village itself offers a playground, 3 pools, cafes and shops.

Cabanas is a small and pretty fishing village and is not overcrowded with tourists.It remains largely unspoilt and has a friendly, family atmosphere. The whole village can be leisurely strolled, from end to end, in around 30 minutes and has an excellent choice of restaurants, bars and cafes catering for all tastes - most of which are along the sea front capturing the day time sunshine. For smaller budgets and a taste of the real Algarve, there are also a number of traditional bars and Tascas serving typical Portuguese meals in the back streets at very reasonable prices! The village has 2 good supermarkets with a range of fresh produce and there is also a daily market, butchers and bakers. There are relatively few gifts shops, but in the height of summer, there are stalls selling hand crafted goods. Cabanas is not a destination for those seeking activity and night life - the atmosphere is generally relaxed and is perfect for socialising, relaxing and dining. Good bus/rail links.

  • Rates are for up to 6 persons. Travel cots are available at 20 Euros per week and 12.50 Euros for subsequent weeks. A 20% deposit is required to secure the reservation with the balance payable 8 weeks prior to arrival.
    Payment is preferred in the specified currency. We may have to charge you for any bank fees incurred should the payment be made in a different currency. Refundable House Deposit of £150 or 150€ is required.
    All charges include cleaning before arrival, cleaning and change of linen once per week and cleaning after departure. All linen and towels are provided.
    Supplement of 25€ per week for either air con or underfloor heating as required.
    Long term winter rentals are available at reasonable rates. Winter months may attract a small additional heating charge. Please enquire for further details.

THE BEAUTIFUL TOWN OF TAVIRA: When staying in this accommodation a visit to the beautiful town of Tavira is essential! You will not fail to be enthralled by its unspoilt charm, character and tranquillity. As you wander along the cobbled streets, you'll see an abundance of history dating as far back as 2000BC. A Roman bridge links the 2 parts of the town across the River Gilao, its sides decorated with traditional old bars and restaurants where you can relax and enjoy a peaceful drink or meal. Horse drawn carriages and a small train operate around the town and are perfect for sightseeing and enjoying the peaceful ambiance. The many churches (37 in total!), the town castle and the typical fisherman's harbour leading to the River Formosa Natural Park are all places to visit, along with the wonderful daily market selling fresh home grown produce. Tavira Island and its wonderful beach is accessible by ferry boat from the town and offers excellent facilities with a wonderful holiday atmosphere.

BEACH AND OTHER THINGS TO SEE AND DO: The Algarve is famous for its wonderful sandy beaches and the idyllic Beach Island of Cabanas is no exception. Around 15 minutes stroll away, take the small water boat across the River Formosa to the beautiful sands. There are a few beach bars, and sun beds and are available for hire. By travelling a little further afield there are a good range of things to do for everyone. For nature lovers, forest walks, cruises along the River Guadiana or nature trails along the Ria Formosa Reserve where bird watching is in abundance! Travelling West there are some excellent shopping centres in Faro and Ghia as well as the famous Water Parks and Zoo Marine all easily reached by car or by day trip coach. The Spanish border town of Ayamonte is approx 25 kms by car, where the delights of another country can be sampled along with wine, Tapas and shopping. Ayamonte can also be reached by ferry from Vila Real. Seville is about 170km away, and budding historians may enjoy Castro Marim castle.

GOLF INFORMATION: This is perfect accommodation for golfers wishing to sample the excellent courses situated in the Eastern Algarve. Within a 20km radius there are 7 courses to choose from. Benamor and the 2 Quintas (Ria and Cima) are the most popular and can be reached within several minutes. The prestigious new course of Monte Rei designed by Jack Nicklaus now has its first 18 holes open and is continuing in its development to the second phase offering the height of golfing luxury - although a costly experience, this is a real treat for golfing fanatics wishing to experience a little high life! Travelling only 10kms further on towards Spain, the challenging course of Castro Marim, along with its famous country club comes highly recommended and just across the border are the Costa Esuri and Quinta do Vale courses now growing in popularity. We can organise a full golfing package with 1 price per head with play at a selection of these courses, car hire and rental of this property. (Flights not included)
