All visitors to L'Escala fall in love with this beautiful fishing port, its small and friendly old town, its woods, protected sand dunes, wide sandy beaches and small bays and coves. Apartment Panoramica is set in the wonderful Montgo Bay end of town . L'Escala is only 40 minutes drive from Girona airport, which is served by Ryanair. There are several quality golf courses nearby and in winter there are ski resorts within an hour and a half's drive away.
The lanes of L'Escala's old town host small shops, wonderful restaurants, bars and cafes. The town hosts many concerts and has a very popular Sunday market. Golfers traveling to courses situated in the Baix and Alt Emporda countryside are exploring untouched territories. In the last decade the Costa Brava has become host to nine excellent golf courses (not a bad one amongst them) four of which are some of the best in Europe. Costa Brava golf courses are rapidly becoming known as Spain’s best golfing destination. Those closest include Pals, Peralada, Girona, Gualta and Emporda. The Costa Brava has a climate that’s perfect for golf. Along the coastline, the region usually enjoys year-round bright, sunny and mild weather with an average yearly temp of 16 degrees centigrade. It’s protected by the Pyrenees Mountains in the north and the warm Mediterranean to the east. A warm jet stream helps keep the region pleasantly bright and mild during the winter.
