Other things you should know!:
Underground parking is located 2 levels below ground & very secure. Access via car-lift. Parking in Brighton is notoriously bad so this is a real bonus. Having a car in Brighton enables you to explore the surrounding area such as the South Downs in the beautiful Sussex countryside. Central London is only an hours drive away or why not go further down the coast to Eastbourne or take a ferry (3 hour journey) to France from Newhaven which is a 20 min drive; you could even sample the nightlife in Bournemouth. The Arts are HUGE! in Brighton & especially for May. The whole month of May hosts the Brighton Festival with lots happening such as street carnivals, open houses (where you can see local artists work in their own homes!) Open gardens. Chinese State Circus in Preston Park, the Lady Boys of Bangkok; the Childrens parade, Spiegal Tent & Channel 4's Udderbelly with tonnes of acts & entertainment.
Other events.:
Gay Pride in August! This is probably the single-most biggest event in Brighton & happens usually the 1st weekend in August. The whole city comes alive on Saturay at 11am to watch the parade march to Preston Park where the festival commences around 1pm until 8pm. The clubs & pubs in Brighton are electric that evening and the parties continue in St James St the following day. Not just for gay people & certainly not to be missed!
In November people from all of the south flock to nearby Lewes for the Guy Fawkes night! The world-renowned event takes over the sleepy town of Lewes with massive (and several) firework & bonfire displays.
In December (winter solstice) there is the 'Burning of the Clocks'; a traditionally Pagan event to celebrate the winter Solstice (shortest day of the year). The parade consists of beautifully made paper lanterns of all shapes & sizes lighting up the streets & culminates in an amazing firework show on the beach where all the lanterns are then burned.

Brighton is arguably the UK's Gay Capital. Health Authority approved statistics show that one in five men in Brighton and Hove are gay, with an estimated lesbian and gay population standing at 35,000. There is such an acceptable attitude here that you find gay people don't even necessarily feel they have to be in a gay establishment to feel comfortable. Most bars/clubs/restaurants in Brighton are very Gay-friendly & its the only city in the UK you will frequently see same sex couples walking hand-in-hand in the centre of town. The proof is all around; check out how many places have a rainbow sticker in the window!
Brighton has it's own naturist beach which is very popular with residents & tourists.
There is practically something going on 365 days a year; don't miss the Victorian Sewer tour; an amazing experience! Several events through-out the year including the 'Naked Bike Ride' (yup, it's true) many car & bike rallies; the zombie walk at Hallowe'en.
