This exclusive apartment in Monteroosso, on the first floor of historical mansion in pure Art deco' style built up in the late 1880's. The building is positioned on top of a small hill in the western part of Monterosso, Fegina, just a few steps from its famous village beaches. This Villa represents an historical landmark, since it belonged to the Nobel Price for Literature (1975) Eugenio Montale, who, in this amazing property lived and composed some of his marvellous poems Visiting the house it is evident that quietness and beauty that inspired the poet are still here: from its windows the relaxing sound of the sea is definitely part of the fascinating atmosphere of Villa Montale and the big park of palms and pine trees embracing the property is a real treasure of silence and beauty that shade the mansion keeping it fresh even in the hottest months.

Monterosso Lively village is the biggest of the famous five Cinque Terre Villages. Beaches are longer and wider than in the other four and tourist can find here all kind of services. Amusement is guaranteed here: restaurants and pubs, traditional fairs, music in the street will let anyone have a memorable holiday. Stores are at hand in Fegina (about 300 - 500 mt) and pubs, pizzerias and restaurants can be easily found in both parts of Monterosso Village. Monterosso train station is about 800 meters from the property and private car transfer can be arranged at arrival. Private and Public Boat Tours depart from the pier in older part and you cans end enquiries for organizing and amusing day out on a typical boat. Interesting and funny cooking-classes can be held directly at Villa Montale; send us enquiries as well. Private car tours to the Poet's Gulf, Portofino coast or Tuscany can depart from the villa as well as shopping tours to major outlet shopping malls.

Notes: Entering from the main door we find a wide entrance hall, leading us to the majestic sitting and dining room that will reveal the incredible fresco's paintings, a peculiarity of all the bedrooms of the apartment. In this room two big windows, one leading to a small balcony. Both of them open on the marvellous panorama of the sea and the luxuriant park. The floor is made, “wall to wall”, with the typical Ligurian technique of “ graniglia”, a classic and elegant decoration ever present in the high class families mansions during the 1800 and early 1900. Two comfortable sofas and a large table for up to 10 seats are perfect for having a delicious dinner or just for enjoying the calm of the place. This large dining and sitting room is the real heart of the house and from it we have access to the rest of the apartment, The kitchen, fully equipped is small if compared to the large apartment, but this is typical of the Ligurian mansions of the XIX Century.
