This magnificent Georgian country house, situated down a long tree-lined drive on the outskirts of the quiet village of Bridgerule on the Devon/Cornwall border, has all the benefits of a tranquil rural setting and yet is only five miles from the seaside town of Bude and the stunning North Cornwall coast. The house (the country residence of the newly recreated Duke of Exeter) combines an air of grandeur with the warm welcoming feel of a charming home and resonates with the elegance of a lost era whilst boasting modern amenities and comforts. With seven bedrooms (four en-suite) the house can comfortably sleep up to 18 people. The elegant dining room, unusual semicircular breakfast room with its semicircular dining table, two drawing rooms, snooker room and wide, airy hallway and galleried landing mean that there is plenty of space to be together without being under each other's feet.

Situated close to the quiet village of Bridgerule about seven miles from the market town of Holsworthy. Dartmoor is within a short distance and Exmoor a little further afield. The bathing and surfing beaches of North Cornwall are within 15 minutes' drive. There are several National Trust properties in the vicinity and the house is perfectly placed as a base for exploring the many attractions both cultural and historical in the area. Holsworthy is a lovely little market town and the main town of Bude lies about ten miles away. There are many National Trust properties nearby; Lanhydrock, Cotehele, Arlington Court and The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are about and hour and a half in the car. Morwellham Quay is a great insight into a Victorian harbour and how it worked and there are many other attractions as well as the fantastic scenery and coastal activities on offer. There are outdoor pursuit centres, tennis, squash, horseriding, bowls and a gym nearby.
