Uskudar is an old area of Istanbul on the Asian side of the city with its own historical features including mosque complexes, old Turkish baths and Ottoman fountains. The area has a traditional atmosphere including open markets & bazaars. Boats for transport to the rest of the city are 500 metres away. The Bosphours bridge is ten minutes away by car. Florence Nightingale's Museum, Beylerbeyi Palace, Leander's Tower etc etc are all walking distance. Transportation by boat to the old city and other destinations is available within walking distance from the house. Travel time across the Bosphorus, an experience in itself, is only 10 minutes and boats run continuously until after midnight.Many fish restaurants & bars are nearby as are small shops with friendly service for your daily supplies.
