Tuzla is famous as a natural sanctuary for birds. Common sites are the Pelican, Great White and Little Egret and between October and April, greater flamingos flock to the area by the thousands. The lake provides a spectacular backdrop, especially in the spring. Tuzla also holds an important place in history. Ruins of the ancient city of Bargilia, including a Roman temple, can be seen scattered over this area of breathtaking beauty and calmness.
All this and yet close enough to enjoy the thrills of Bodrum!
On top of all this the layers of dazzling cube-shaped, white-washed houses rise up from the harbour creating Villa Leila
Another interesting place to visit is the town of Yalikavak, a large bay producing an array of the most delicious fish. For a treat book a table at the waters edge with waiter service that's second to none.
You can also catch a ferry to the Greek island of Kos (daily service from Bodrum - book your ticket on the day along the harbour front).
