At the edge of the beautiful Galloway Forest Park. Secluded cottage on the perfect location to get away from all. The property is about 400 m away from the Kirroughtree Visitor Centre, the hub for numerous way marked walks and the world renowned 7 Stanes biking trails with its cafe and children’s playground. The smart garden is a haven for varied birdlife it attracts endangered red squirrels We provide nuts & seeds so you can keep them happy. Although it feels remote Cairnlea is only a short drive from the town of Newton Stewart, with its shops, pubs, tearooms etc. Other nearby facilities include beaches, botanical gardens, golf, fishing hill walking, RSPB reserves etc. Accommodations include a double bedroom(en suite) 2 x twin rooms, a fully equipped modern kitchen, a separate dining area, a large family bathroom including a bidet, lounge, with 26' flat TV, DVD player, VCR, books, games, etc. Outside there is ample parking space, garden furniture, lawn and terraced borders.

As a region it is still under discovered, thus there is plenty of space to explore without the crowds Our cottage is overlooked by the beautiful Galloway Hills, the second highest peak (710m) being walkable from the gate (10 miles return ) A short walk down the lane is the Kirroghtree Visitor Centre. with all its attractions and a little further afield by car you can explore similar centres at Glen Trool and Clatteringshaw Loch. You will also find a Red deer Park, A Wild Goat park Red Kite feeding Centre and RSPB sites all within the Forest Park Also within a short drive are the seaside town of Portpatrick,Port Logan Botanical gardens, Gatehouse of Fleet (museum & quality dining ) Kirkcudbright Artists town and beaches at Mossyard and Sandgreen (windsurfing). If you are more adventurous and visit to Belfast via Stranraer ferry.

Notes: We have a split level oven and separate 5 ring hob. The kitchen and the cottage are equipped to a very high standard. There is a tumble dryer in the garage. The property is all on one level and but not suitable for people in wheelchairs as some doors are too narrow.
