Galloway is an area of outstanding beauty boasting dramatic hills, rushing rivers and , burns and tranquil lochs.
As a region it is still under discovered, thus there is plenty of space to explore without the crowds
Our cottage is overlooked by the beautiful Galloway Hills, the second highest peak (710m) being walkable from the gate (10 miles return ) A short walk down the lane is the Kirroghtree Visitor Centre. with all its attractions and a little further afield by car you can explore similar centres at Glen Trool and Clatteringshaw Loch. You will also find a Red deer Park, A Wild Goat park Red Kite feeding Centre and RSPB sites all within the Forest Park
Also within a short drive are the seaside town of Portpatrick,Port Logan Botanical gardens, Gatehouse of Fleet (museum & quality dining ) Kirkcudbright Artists town and beaches at Mossyard and Sandgreen (windsurfing).
