A traditional farmhouse built over an ancient spring nestled on a south facing hillside. This beautifully extended & restored house is a perfect holiday home for people who value their privacy but want easy access to shops & restaurants. It has its own private pool and attractive gardens & comfortably sleeps 6 people. Lovingly restored and furnished to a high standard to create a peaceful hideaway in the Abruzzo hills. 2 large bedrooms with king sized beds and a bathroom upstairs. Cot and playpen available. Fully equipped kitchen with wood burning stove, sitting room, & a lounge/dining room with a double sofa bed, log burning stove, TV and DVD player and a good selection of books and DVDs. The lounge has its own bathroom. A shaded outside lounge overlooks the pool and there is a covered outside dining area for all weather outside dining. Surrounded by the owner's olive farm with farmland stretching in all directions. Lovely views of two mountain ranges and a medieval village.

Abruzzo is the least populated region of Italy offering 129 km of beaches, wonderful mountains, including the highest peaks in Italy outside of the Alps, and rolling hills between the coast and the uplands. 30% of the region is national park and offers some of the most remote & beautiful scenery in southern Europe. The house is about half way between the sandy beaches, bars & restaurants of Pineto & Pescara and the Gran Sasso mountains and national park which offer skiing, walking, climbing, horse or bike riding or just a great place to picnic. In spring the high plateaus are famous for acres of wild flowers and in autumn the huge beech forests are a profusion of colour. History buffs will find 80 castles, beautiful medieval villages & towns as well as Roman & pre-Roman remains. Fresh pasta & bread are made daily in the village and local farms offer cheese, olive oil, & meats. Our local winery is becoming internationally recognised yet still offers robust reds for about €1 a litre.

  • The two upstairs rooms are both large rooms with great views. Each has a large double bed; the one in the master bedroom is an extra large emperor sized bed. Both rooms have good wardrobe space and share a family bathroom with shower, toilet and bidet. Downstairs the large lounge which opens straight onto the pool area has a double sofa bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath and shower.
