The Cottage:
El Pajar is an attractive, comfortable holiday home for 2. The cottage is all on one floor and furnished with a mix of antique and new pieces. It has an open-plan living/dining room with a new wood burning stove and the original bread oven still intact. The well-equipped corner kitchen is tiled in blue and white. The bedroom invites with its large double bed and freshly ironed sheets. The bathroom is en-suite and a writing table is by the window for those inspired by the view. There is a small terrace with a table and chairs at the entrance and another table and chairs in a garden area to the side. The organic vegetable garden is behind the cottage. The views from El Pajar are of the mountains with an ocean view through the trees to the left. Next to our 300 year old 'horreo', the emblematic Asturian grain store on stilts, you will feel immersed in traditional Asturias.
Organic and Clean Environment:
Enjoy our organic lifestyle. Our linens are washed in natural soaps and sun dried. The house has features which save on energy and we recycle. Organic food is available for purchase. We do not own a tractor or heavy farm machinery and there is no traffic. Spend time relaxing and walking the old paths leading off the property to include the Camino de Santiago, an ancient pilgrim route or spend your days exploring the many beaches and villages along the coast or in our spectacular mountains. We are available to help with reservations and are happy to share our knowledge of the area. Quite a bit of information is available in the cottage to include our local guide of favourite beaches, towns, routes and restaurants. For those of you considering a car-less holiday it is possible. There are local taxis willing to pick you up, wait while you shop and then bring you up. Just a phone call away they can pick you up anytime and anywhere during your stay.
