Photos and Description of this Gloucestershire Cotswolds holiday cottage Superbly appointed house in one of the most beautiful Cotswold villages

Top Cottage dates from around 1800. It was originally four houses that have been converted into a single dwelling. It retains a wealth of period features including inglenook fireplaces, a bread oven and exposed beams. The house has been equipped as the main residence of the owners (who presently live abroad) and, therefore, doesn't suffer from any penny pinching. The house has been refurbished to a very high standard and is equipped with antique furniture and tasteful period art. Outside, there are extensive landscaped gardens and a gravel drive. From April 2010, an annex in the grounds of the house will provide additional accommodation. The main house contains a large open plan living area, a spacious entrance hall/study and a kitchen dining room with flagstone floors, an Aga and seating for six. Upstairs, there are two main bedrooms each with high quality bathrooms. One bedroom has an en-suite dressing room and a further flight of stairs from this leads to another bedroom.

The Cotswolds is one of the most beautiful parts of England. Visitors travel from all over the world to see its historic architecture and experience its wonderful churches, pubs and antique shops. Top Cottage is in the heart of Upper Oddington, one of the most charming and unspoiled of all the Cotswold villages. It is a five minute journey from the heart of Stow-on-the-Wold which has a historic market squares and a wealth of antique sgops. The historic towns of Burford, Chipping Campden, Moreton-in-Marsh, Bourton-on the-Water and chipping Norton are close by. The historic cities of Oxford and Cheltenham are less than 30 miles away and London can be reached in 80 minutes from the nearby railway station. For those wanting to stay close to home, there are a large number of interesting walks in the village as well as two award winning pubs. The Well known Daylesford Organic farm shop is a few minutes away. There are many nearby activities for children including a model village.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Special New Year offer. Stay at Top Cottage from December 31st in the morning to January 5th for GBP 1200. Any consecutive nights (up to a maximum of 10 for GBP 40 per night.)
  • A 20% non refundable deposit is payable on booking and the rest is payable eight weeks in advance of the beginning of the stay. If bookings are made less than ten weeks in advance of the beginning of the stay, the whole amount is payable at this time. Any amount paid above the initial 20% will be non-refundable unless we secure a substitute booking for that period on the same terms. It is recommended that all guests take out cancellation insurance.
  • All prices are inclusive of towels, bedding, cleaning services and taxes.

Notes: Please note that there have been some changes to the furniture and decor since the photos were taken. However, everything in place is still to the same high standard as in the photographs. Brand new high quality traditional sofas and armchairs have been installed in late 2009 along with new allergenic king sized beds.
