If you are looking for old-world character within easy reach of the sights and scenery of the Cotswolds, this privately owned cottage offers the ideal holiday / vacation rental. The cottage itself is over 200 years old, grade 2 listed, with plenty of original features, including inglenook fireplace and old elm beams, but it is beautifully maintained, and includes modern conveniences such as full central heating, and broadband equipped computer available for your use. There are unspoiled views from all windows. It is in a very quiet and peaceful village location with lovely countryside surroundings, and its own secluded garden, in a convenient position between Oxford and Stratford upon Avon. It provides excellent accommodation for up to 4 adults plus a child. Cot and highchair can be provided. There is even a web site devoted to its history, dating back to 1800. There is so much to see and do in this beautiful area: the charming scenery of the Cotswolds, changing at every turn in the road; Medieval castles, Saxon churches, Roman remains, mysterious Neolithic sites; picturesque market towns, many National Trust properties, too many stately homes with beautiful gardens to list individually, attractions for children, footpaths to walk, and wonderful pubs with real ale brewed locally. Blenheim Palace and Stratford upon Avon are within easy reach, together with other attractive Cotswold villages. If you stay a week, you'll wish it was two! Swerford is a quiet and unspoiled village around a church and village green, built out of picturesque Cotswold stone and Stonesfield slate, when the only disturbance is the occasional group of bell-ringers who come to ring the church bells in summer. Additional information about rental rates

  • Rates are inclusive of bed linen and towels, water, normal central heating, electricity and final cleaning. In winter the heating can run continuously and we do have to make an additional charge for this of £50 a week. These rates are quoted for a maximum party size of 4 adults and 1 child. 30% deposit needed to secure booking, balance payable 8 weeks prior to arrival, together with a security deposit of £150. The security deposit is held against key loss and breakages or damage, and is returnable within 10 working days by direct bank transfer after inventory check. Payments can be made by cheque or bank transfer. For short notice bookings, when direct bank transfer will be required, contact us for details. Changeover day is usually Saturday.

    Please note we do not normally accept short break bookings in winter.

  • Although there are three bedrooms, this is an historic country cottage built in the original artisan style, with low beams and narrow staircases. The bedrooms are cosy rather than spacious, so we consider it most suitable for parties of up to 4 or 5, e.g. a family of 3 to 5, or 4 adults plus a child, rather than larger parties. Huisje in the Cotswolds

Waar gaan we naar toe in de komende Meivakantie? Deze vraag zong al weken door mijn hoofd de afgelopen winter. Waarom niet naar Engeland?
Na enkele avonden zoeken op internet kwam ik bij Blue Row uit. Dit is een op het zicht eenvoudig huisje in Swerford.
Dit huisje bevat echter wel alles wat je nodig hebt met een gezin. En de ligging...naast een mooi kerkje in een gehuchtje waar de rust van vele eeuwen nog steeds waarneembaar is. Je kan er prachtig wandelen, er zijn leuke pubs en de winkels zijn op enkele minuten rijden aanwezig.
Drie kwartier rijden en je bent in Oxord!

Maar wat bovenal mooi is, is het geweldige typisch Cotswold-landschap. Glooiend, veel houtwallen, lammetjes, bloemen, fazanten, konijnen, koeien, beekjes, meer bloemen, uitzichten en rust. Veel rust!

Het Huisje is m.i. niet duur en de contactpersoon is prima.

Al met al: doen!

Geweldig leuk huisje

Voor wie een vakantie wil doorbrengen in een echte Engelse cottage moet zeker dit huisje overwegen. Gelegen in een klein dorpje waar de rust overheerst. Het huisje is schoon, tuin is prachtig en de ontvangst was zeer hartelijk. Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien maar heeft één nadeel, de bedden zijn vrij smal en eigenlijk te kort voor de gemiddelde Nederlandse man.

Owner's Response: I agree that the beds are small, (it is an old cottage with no room for king-size beds). These guests used the shortest of the double beds, as the room can be linked to a room with a cot. We do give the exact sizes of the beds and of all the rooms on the UK HomeAway / Holiday-rentals web site and the link to our own web site which is on there. Unfortunately the non-UK HomeAway web sites omit these details for our cottage, but we always send enquirers the links.
We have repeat bookings from Dutchmen, so some of them must be happy with the beds!
