Marina del Este is a small attractive harbour protected by the pine-clad promontory of the Punta de la Mona. This luxury three bedroom, two bathroom, UK owned, ground floor apartment in the exclusive Las Lomas development is tucked into an elevated position above the Marina. The large front private balcony, opening off the living room and the master bedroom, affords stunning views of the coastline where the Alpujjaras and Sierra Nevada tumble down into the sea. There is a tiny atrium in the middle and private garden at the back, so the sun, that shines an average of 325 days a year, can be chased from dawn to dusk. The newly furnished lounge has two leather sofas, a flat screen TV with UK free view programmes, a DVD player and library. The glass dining table seats six comfortably. The small well-equipped kitchen has doors onto the atrium and the garden. The three double bedrooms have large built in wardrobes and air conditioning. The development has a large communal pool

The harbour at Marina del Este is a five minute walk down from Las Lomas, but quite an energetic walk back up! Luckily there is a big car park at los Berengueles beach, next to the marina, or in the evenings you can use the marina car park. Marina del Este is rumoured to be more expensive per berth than Puerto Banus and has some fabulous yachts and power-boats. The outer breakwater links the massive rock of Penon de las Caballas to the shore making this surely the prettiest marina on the South Coast. There are a number of restaurants with outdoor tables overlooking the water. At the far end of the marina is a small British run supermarket, an ATM machine and a dive school. The Punta is famed for its diving, with some of the clearest water, cliffs and underwater caves. Next to the marina is los Berengueles beach, a small horseshoe shaped sand and shingle beach with excellent snorkelling and a good beach bar and restaurant. There are 25 beaches within a ten minute drive of the Punta.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Payment can be made either in sterling or euros. A 20% deposit is payable on booking with the balance due 6 weeks prior to departure. An additional 20% security deposit is also required with the balance, and is fully refundable in the event of no damage to the apartment.
  • The flat is cleaned and linen changed prior to your stay and at departure. We would ask that you do not arrive before 4 pm, so the apartment can be cleaned and that it is vacated on the day of departure before 10 am.
  • Towels for the beach and swimming pool are not provided.
    Please note that if you are after a holiday with loud music, clubs and discos, then this is definitely not the place for you.

Facing east it gets the sun from sunrise to mid afternoon. The views over the pool, the Marina and then the coastline with the Alpujjaras tumbling down in to the Mediterranean Sea are just spectacular. Furnished with comfortable cane armchairs and a sofa it is just the place to chill out with an ice-cold drink. The balcony is accessed by patio doors from the lounge and the master bedroom. There is an inner patio with a breakfast table and chairs that is a shaded spot off the kitchen.
