Yr Hen Beudy is located in the heart of Ceredigion - a coastal County which borders Cardigan Bay in West Wales, and stretches from the southern fringes of the North Wales mountains, and majestic Snowdonia, to the northern boundaries of the Preseli hills in Pembrokeshire. The sea is just 14 miles away, the famously lovely Teifi Valley is nearby, as is the ancient university town of Lampeter, and the newer one of Aberystwyth, the colourful coastal resort of Aberaeron, the market town of Newcastle Emlyn and the historic town of Cardigan. Cardigan Bay was in the past noted for ship-building, and nearby Newquay is still an important local harbour. Sea trips are available from here to see dolphins and seals and locally-caught fish and sea-food are landed here. Sailing for pleasure is popular; you can hire sailing boats and take sailing, wind-surfing and canoeing courses here too. Other coastal spots to visit include Llangrannog, Tresaith, Aberporth and National Trust sites.

Beautiful old barn with all mod cons

This is the perfect place for everyone who wants to get away from it all!

Everything looked brand spanking new, and the owners have obviously paid very good attention to all the little details that make a good holiday cottage into an excellent one.

The beds were very comfortable, the shower was lovely. The kitchen was very well equipped - even had an egg pricker! My hubby had great fun playing with the fire. We went for some lovely walks - loads of lovely costal paths and inland walks within a 15-20 minute drive (a Sat-Nav is helpful). The barn is nicely secluded at the end of a well surfaced lane which has no through traffic so it is also very quiet.

All in all a cosy, homely, comfortable getaway which we very much look forward to visiting again.

Wer hier war, kommt wieder! Wir waren schon zum zweitenmal da! In wunderbarer Umgebung, echt britisch-höfliche Gastgeber, komplett ausgestattete Ferienwohnung, wir liebten die heimelige Feuerstelle, das stilvolle Ambiente in der weiträumigen Wohnung. Die Küche ist komplett eingerichtet, Waschmaschine und Trockner ermöglichten uns stets frische Wäsche auch bei nur geringem Fluggepäck. Dass die walisische Gegend faszinierend ist, weiß jeder Deutsche schon vorher, aber sie selbst zu erkunden, ist nochmal etwas anderes! Begeistert hat uns auch die Küsgtenregion an der irischen See hat uns geradezu begeistert. Die Möglichkeit dt. Sateliten-Fernsehens haben wir nicht in Anspruch genommen, obwohl auch das für manchen dt. Urlauber interessant wäre. Vielen Dank für die wunderbare Zeit bei Euch! Wir kommen wieder!

Great place to stay to see welsh life first hand. Nice and quiet, really spacious cottage, well equipped, great to have a real fire in the evenings. Plenty of walking opportunities to see the countryside, lots to do in the area. Loved the Gwar Cefel pub for a sunday roast, reccommended by the cottage owners. Thanks for a great stay.

A beautiful cottage in a lovely area!

We have stayed in numerous holiday cottages over the years, but none has felt quite so homely as this one! It's as nice on the inside as it is on the outside, with lovely slate tiled floors, big bedrooms, and a great open plan living/dining/kitchen area, which is really light and airy! The woodburning stove really blasts the heat out for a cosy evening in, and looks lovely too. The cottage is fully equipped with everything one could need, and the owners are welcoming and helpful, able to provide any information you might want about the area!
We'll definately be back! Thanks for a lovely holiday!
