Offering superb view of the Cathedral from the pretty enclosed patio garden, this delightful Grade II listed cottage is owned by the landlord of the King's Arms - the oldest pub in Arundel (circa 1625). Set over three floors it has been tastefully furnished throughout. Although In a quiet location, it is only a 5 minute gentle walk to the historic town centre with shops, galleries, pubs, tea rooms, restaurants, Arundel Castle and the River. Swanbourne Lake, The Wild Fowl and Wetlands Trust and the South Downs are nearby. Plus various NT homes and gardens, golf, sailing, surfing, riding and cycling can all be enjoyed nearby. Ground floor: Living room with wooden floors. Kitchen. First floor: 1 double bedroom. Bathroom with bath and toilet. Attic room: 1 single bedroom with additional pull out single. A market town rich in history and culture, straddling the river Arun, between the South Downs and the English Channel waiting to be discovered.

Arundel is a small hilltop town with a skyline dominated by the Castle. High on a hill, at the head of the Arun gap stand the Norman Castle and Gothic Cathedral. Surrounded by ancient woodland, Arundel’s skyline is impressive from whatever direction you approach the town.

There is a rich variety of thriving, independent retailers, all giving a highly individual welcome. The town has become famous not only for its antique shops but also for its wide range of other contemporary shops, restaurants and galleries.

There are numerous things to do locally: Arundel Wetlands Centre, Arundel Castle, Arundel Museum, Amberley Working museum, Denamns Gardens and Fontwell racecourse all being close at hand.

At the end of August this wonderful historic town is alive with art, sculpture, music, theatre, street entertainments and events for all.

lovely cottage in a beautiful town

We had a wonderful long weekend staying here. Very cosy and welcoming cottage. Flowers and wine on arrival are alovely touch. We'd be keen to stay again.

Great Time in Arundel

We just spent 3 days in Arundel and had a wonderful time, the cottage was lovely and was very central to everywhere we wanted to go, had everything you might need and we were very comfortable there. It was spotless, well maintained and exactly as described. Plenty of books etc to keep you occupied if you were there for a week and the weather was bad. We previously stayed in a hotel when visiting the area and would not do so again after having the freedom and comfort of our own house for the few days. The only niggle and it's a small one is that a stand up shower would have been better than the over the bath one but it's only a small thing and we were still clean at the end of it! Maybe putting up a shower curtain to stop water going all over the place may suffice.... The stairs are quite steep which is to be expected in a property of this age but this didn't affect us at all. 4 people would stay in the house very comfortably and I would recommend it if visiting the area and would definitely stay there again myself.

DELIGHTFUL STAY IN DELIGHTFUL TOWN

This is a delightful Georgian cottage in a charming Sussex town. The property is clean, warm with a lovely atmosphere and in a great location - quiet but very close walking distance to town which is beautiful with lots to do and see. Would definitely return"

Charming cottage with everything one could need and so nice to be welcomed with flowers, fruit, wine etc. Thank you! Perfectly located. Arundel is a beautiful place with so much to see and do. Had a great time - hopefully will be back next year for longer!
