On a quiet street in the East village, only 2 blocks from Tompkins square park, where the greatest, like Jimmy Hendrix. Many cafés/bars and places to hang out in the area. The neighbourhood is very friendly and very bohemian with many galleries and a great music scene. Visit Katz's, the oldest deli in NYC established in the 1880's and eat pastrami sandwiches to die for. The oldest bar in NYC 'McSorleys' is also on E7th St., only a few blocks away, or hang out at the 7/B where Crocodile Dundee was filmed.The Tenement Museum is a great place to visit, and see how it used to be in the 1900's: This is where they filmed most of 'The Gangs of NY'. Come and see the real Big apple:fantastic and friendly.There are great children play-parks near and the area is very family friendly. NYC is very small and it is easy to get to all the sights on Manhattan great and cheap public transport.
