Villeta Sara 2, is a property located outside the downtown area of Balestrate that helps make it a quite tranquil and quiet place. The view from the enormous terrace of the Ionic sea is superb, were you can enjoy under their canopy, your daily breakfast, lunch or dinner. The apartment itself is very comfortable, very clean, very well equipped with china,
glasses, pots and pans, linen, towels, etc. etc. with ample and airy rooms.
It’s the perfect place to stay for you to visit the fantastic array of interesting places around the area , Scopello, Alcamo, Castellamare del Golfo being the closest, as much as Erice (a must), Trapani, SanVito lo Capo, Segesta and of course! Agrigento, the farthest. Balestrate has a good beach but the ones near Scopello & SanVito lo Capo are superb.
About Palermo, we recommend to take the bus (stop at Main square in front of Cathedral),but that doesn’t run on Sundays ; or the train, every day, just check for schedules at any cigarette store (tobacconist). Once there get ready to walk!! with the proper map or join any of the many Tours that run around the city. Do not miss Monreale! Not far from Palermo.
Speaking some Italian will make wonders! The Sicilian people (the ones walking, not driving!!) are one of the most helpful and friendly I’ve ever encountered but English in general is not
spoken; thou they do try, indeed! So, as a gesture of good will, try your Italian!!! About the “type of drivers”..... Behind a wheel they become different people! They have their own rules, they are extremely impatient and for them who’s first into an intersection, is the first to go!!! So, be extremely prudent driving there, specially when you have to go through the towns, as few have bypass roads, OK? Anyway, go there and enjoy life as they do!! The food is great, wine is fantastic, both well priced, the sea is gorgeous, the sites are breathtaking, so, what else could one want?!
To top it off, you have Marianna and Francesco, there for you if any problem or need you might have arises. But do not forget to take your cell phone with you!!! Thank you Marianna and Francesco for all your assistance, as much as for the wine, the cannolis, etc. etc. Kudos for you Marianna for how clean and proper you keep the apartments!! Grazie mille e arrivederci!!!
