There are many excursions possibilities around and on the Lago Maggiore. We also recommend further trips: The Valley of Maggia offers picturesque villages with stone houses, many hiking routes and attractive riverside beaches. The valley of Verzaska is world-famous for its wild river, which has eaten itself into the stone, the perfekt place for sunbathing in the afternoons. The city Bellinzona with its medieval fortifications belongs to the Unesco world cultural heritage. Locarno is the ideal starting point for Shopping. Beside the many shops in Locarno, Ascona with its famous lake promenade, innumerable fashion shops and art galleries is only 5 minutes from the Villa Locarno. With a 30-minutigen drive one arrives at the Shopping Malls of Lugano or the legendary market of Luino on the opposite side of the Lago. A one-hour travel leads into the north Italian fashion metropolis Milan.

The Villa Locarno well linked up with public traffic means: The nearby airports of Lugano (35min) and Milan Malpensa (50min). The station of Locarno with its connections to Zurich and Lugano is only 10 walking minutes away from the Villa. The parking space in front of the villa also makes a journey with the own car possible.
Ski:
Above Locarno is Cardada/Cimetta, a small skiing area with 4 elevators (1400 to 1670m). *** Within one hour of running time one reaches San Bernardino, 8 elevators, 35km runway up to 2500m height.
Golf:
Visit the gulf club Patriziale in Ascona, an outstandingly maintained 18-hole-course. Restaurant, pro Shop, baths, everything in highest quality. Handycap 32.
