In the breathtaking Alpujarras Mountains, south of the Sierra Nevada and Granada and north of the Costa del Sol. Within an hour's drive you can walk, ride, go mountain-biking or snow-shoe walking, parascending, skiing, swimming (including hot thermal springs), tour the white villages, visit a local vineyard, visit the spa town of Lanjaron or visit the Moorish city of Granada. Superb 9m by 4m, oval swimming pool, with a 1 metre deep half moon shelf, a safe place for non-swimmers, fenced off for safety for children, an adjacent sauna (Nov to April) and a beautiful secluded courtyard and private garden with mature olive, lemon, orange and almond trees and BBQ. The pool area is 25m x 8m and the private courtyard and garden, 6m x 25m. There is a barbecue and cool box and plenty of room to relax, take in the spectacular mountain views and lounge and eat outdoors Keep cool indoors, behind mosquito-netted doors and windows; watch a video from our library of books, games, videos and CDs

2kms from the market town of Orgiva, 11km from the spa-town of Lanjaron and a 45 minute drive to Granada or the Costa Tropical. Rich in Alpujarran, Andalucian and Moorish traditions and architecture. There is always time for a fiesta, after siesta, and one of the white villages nearby will almost certainly be having one during your stay. The Alpujarras offers unrivalled mountain scenery, regional crafts, wine and food, and a chance to parascend, walk, cycle, horse-ride, snow-shoe or drive in it. The Sierra Nevada provides a constant supply of natural spring water and a number of thermal spas that are wonderful places to relax in during the cooler months. There are two Jazz Festivals a year in the province of Granada (Granada and Almunecar). An International Festival of Music and dance (anything from Classical, Flamenco to World) in Granada and a Festival of Tango(Granada). So, with cheap flights to Granada and easy access to us, why not book a short break or off season break here.

Notes: A very large twin bedded room - 3m x 4m - separated by two arches, from a single room 2.5m x 4m - leading into an en-suite bathroom. Another twin bedroom (can be made-up as a double)- 3m x 3.7mwith adjacent bathroom. The living area and garden are at ground level, making it wheelchair accessible, (but the bathrooms are not). Separate laundry room outside, with washing machine. A 9m by 4m private pool, (has an ioniser, uses few chemicals), provides good access for children,wheelchair users, people with mobility difficulties,and non-swimmers and is fenced off for additional safety. A separate sauna looks out onto the swimming pool (available November to April) The accommodation, including gardens/BBQ and swimming pool and sauna, are at ground floor level are for the exclusive use of guests.

Transport: Car recommended to get the best out of this mountain environment. Malaga airport 2 hours away and Granada about 45 minutes. Details of hire car companies available. Taxi pick-ups from the airport can be arranged. Direct bus to Orgiva every afternoon from Malaga. Frequent buses from Granada. Possible to get around by bus. Owners will pick-up from Orgiva.

Leisure: Good sized swimming pool, and sauna (November to April). Games, books, Spanish TV and video, CD’s and CD player. Two small Internet cafes in Orgiva with computer games for children. A cafe/bar serving food and a restaurant (some live music and weekly craft market) within 5 minutes walk of the house. Numerous other restaurants in Orgiva and other local villages - where it is possible to get Spanish, Italian and Middle Eastern food. We can arrange for a meal to be prepared for you and delivered to your table on request. The area is excellent for touring, cycling, mountain-biking, paragliding, horse-riding, walking and golf, and snow shoe-walking and skiing in winter. A nature-lovers' dream. The owners are keen walkers and can recommend books, maps, walks and walking guides. We can arrange a massage or a yoga session for you at home (or join in a yoga session in a yurt in Orgiva). Watch the fiesta fireworks from your hillside vantage point. Baby-sitting can be arranged.
