Photos and Description of this Montejaque holiday house
3 bedrooms, sleeps 6 or 8 when combined with annex

A charming and characterful traditional old house refurbished several years ago. The house lies at the top of the beautiful old village a few meters from the start of the national park, so very easy access for long scenic walks an ideal place for a peaceful break, great for walking, birdwatching, sightseeing and relaxing. The house feels Moorish with very thick whitewashed walls inside and out., it is long and thin and seems to extend on as you wander through it. There are three bedrooms, a double, a twin and one small with bunk beds, a sitting room with a wood burner for the chilly winter evenings and a cosy dining room, kitchen and bathroom. A superbly situated large walled terrace is accessed from the kitchen it is behind and above the house and has lovely views. The terrace is good for Barbecues is very private and has shade from a large Olive tree. The bars, shops and restaurants are a few hundred meters away, and the communal pool a little further.

Montejaque is one of the beautiful white villages of Andalucia. It is located 15kms from Ronda and lies in the Grazalema Natural Park. The village has a long history reaching back to the time of the conquest by the Moors. It is built on a rocky hillside above a valley of sunflower fields, olive groves and vineyards . In this traditional Spanish village you will, like us, soon feel part of rural Andalucian life where it is so easy to relax and enjoy a peaceful time away from the pressures of modern life. As you walk to your house you follow steep, winding streets which thread their way between whitewashed cottages, whilst a few steps further on the edge of the village, sheep and goat bells can be heard as the animals meander about the surrounding hillside. Moreover the 21st century has bought some changes so albeit you can not beat the traditional tapas there are several delightful restaurants, bars, shops even a fishmongers with incredibly cheap fresh fish.

" What a special place!"

Review Submitted: February 1, 2011 Date of Stay: September 2009
We needed a place to chill out after a stressful time at
work and boy did we find it! Montejaque does what it says on the
tin.The house has its own special charm. Simple and rustic with a
large sun trap of a terrace but which also has the shade of a lovely
old olive tree.We will be back"
