Highly Recommended Holiday Home!

We stayed with two friends for an all-too-short week at the Villa Lou Cade in June 2008. Our choice of this particular villa was made on the basis of its spacious accommodation, both inside & out, the pool, and its proximity to local facilities.
After having met the charming lady keyholder, we were lead to the villa, which we found to be magnificently located just outside Seillans. It was spotlessly clean and well equipped, with every conceivable item of crockery, cutlery & cooking utensils, as well as being very privately located in a quiet residential area.
A major asset of this property, which is well laid out and has ample room for six, is the fact that all three bedrooms open out, via full length doors , onto outside spaces, and from two of them one can lie in bed in the morning looking at the view of Seillans across the valley.
The large amount of terrace space and the garden were greatly appreciated, and the view is amazing. To watch the colours of the village change through the day with the light was a delight.
There are many picturesque villages to visit within easy reach, such as Fayence, Mons and Bargemon.
We spent one day on a tour north to the Gorge du Verdon, including the Route des Cretes, which is staggering in scale and well worth the trip. Keep a look out for the castle and village of Trigance. It is worth a very short diversion either going or returning from the Gorge.
Everywhere we went we found the local people to be both friendly and charming, so much so that it would have been very easy to fall permanently into the lifestyle of the country.
By Day 2, it really felt as though we had moved house, rather than being on holiday, we felt so much at home in the villa.
As recommended by the owner, after a gentle stroll into Seillans itself, we chose our final evening meal to be at “La Gloire de mon Pere” restaurant in the central square under the plane trees. The cooking, staff and ambience were excellent, and it was a fitting end to a delightful week.
Finally, do try the 12 Euro box of red wine from the Chateau de Selves a mile or so outside Seillans, but don’t rely on the “Huit a 8” supermarket being open from 8 to 8!
We shall return.
Je ne regrette rien!
