Castle in Louis XVI style in a park with 56,000 m² - sophisticated furnishing

The property is located on a gentle hill in a park-like property and is bordered by the Lizonne River to the south. The elegant construction (made around the end of the 18th century by the counts of Bouilhac in a Louis XVI style) is clasically structured, has a central entrance and an architecturally amazing stair case that branches out toward the left and right on the second floor. On the ground floor there is a modern kitchen, dining room, fireplace room and two salons. The second floor has six bedrooms, two large, comfortable baths with a marble ambiance. The house has a total of 5 toilets. Under old trees you will find a lot of shaded places to read, relax and eat. An adequate number of garden tables, chairs and lawn chairs are availble.

La Richardie is located on the border between the famous departments of Dordogne and Charente. In villebois-Lavalette (4.5 km), you will have a lot of shopping facilities, especially Saturdays at a traditional market in the medieval covered market at the foot of the old castle grounds. In a radius of about 30 km, you will find Riberac (capitol of the goose and duck foie gras), Angouleme (Paris can be reached with the TGV in 2 hours and 40 minutes.), Brantome (the Venice of Dordogne), in an 80 km radius, the famous wine region of St. Emilion and Bergerac and the city of Cognac. In a radius of 150 km, you will find the famous caves of Lasceaux., the medieval city Sarlat and the Gulf of Arachon and the world famous wine region “Medoc”. In addition to many other attractions, Dordogne, Dronne and other small rivers invite you to go canoeing. All of the above destinations can also be reached comfortable with a bike tour.

The American painter and sculptor Edmund Ashby lives on the top floor of the castle and can give you courses on hobby painting and sculpting if you wish. He also speaks German and knows a lot about the environment and likes to give restaurant tips.
