Oppede holiday house: 0ppede

The good points first :- Cottage was in shade of oak trees in blissfully peaceful and quiet surroundings. Fantastic location for seeing all the midieval villages nearby. No traffic noise. Small interior to cottage but adequate space for 2 people for 1 week. Double bed mattress was very comfortable - not hard. Bedding & towels clean. Plates, bowls, pots and pans etc all nice.
Bad points:- Some concerns regarding safety - the bathroom had a boiler with pilot light for the hot water and it emitted a strong gas smell. Wiring at floor level behing the sink and toilet was exposed and had water dripping next to it. Exposed electrical sockets on kitchen worktop where water from sink and stove could cause shock. Small oven got very hot on outside.
Points for improvement:- Bathroom flooring had some missing floor tiles, showing bare earth which was damp and dirty. Shower screen was discoloured and unclean. Bathroom sink plug did not lift out to drain water away. The odd scorpion got inside the cottage possibly via a gap under the front door. Ice box door inside fridge was broken at hinge and fell off every time it was opened. No tin opener provided. No outside light. No external bin. Internal bin was filthy. Dirty cloths & sponges should have been replaced with new clean ones. Mesh on inside of windows did not seal at corners.
