Hostel from Santa Luce. Vacation in Tuscany in a hostel located on the soft Tuscan hills in the medieval village of Santa Luce in the province of Pisa. It is located 20 minutes from the sea and 45 minutes from the Etruscan alabaster city of Volterra. Excursions to the famous art cities of Tuscany are offered with bikes, hikes and donkey rides. Transfer to/from different train stations and to the Pisa airport (if desired). The hostel is in a villa from the 19th century and was recently renovated. It has 21 beds in 6 rooms. The rooms are wide and have typical Tuscan furniture, some have frescos and others have a view of the sea. A well-equipped kitchen is available for the guests. Bikes (trekking bike and MTB) can be rented. Hiking and biking excursions are lead by group leaders with years of experience (if desired).

Santa Luce is located in a typical and fascinating Tuscan village. It is in a convenient, quiet location close to all destinations in Tuscany. The youth hostel is a 45 minute drive from the alabaster city of Volterra, 30 minutes from Pisa, 50 minutes from Lucca, 20 minutes from the stunning coast of the Etruscan and sea, an hour from the harbor of Piombino. The city has a medieval appearance, even though the location was settled during the Etruscan time. 9 mountain bikes and 21 trekking bikes with “comfort” seat and Shimano De Ore circuit with 27 gears can be rented directly from the hostel. Multiple hikes and biking trips are possible in the nature reserve, like for example in the forest of Santa Luce and by the protected lake bearing the same name. You can start hiking or biking directly on foot or with a bike from the hostel. We also organize certain bike tours upon request.

Orchids species: searching for and photographing: We organize also excursions with Orchids Watching as there are so many different orchids species in the surroundings of santa Luce. We studied long time the severel species of these wonderful plants. Thanks to the big variety of climate and microclimate, of stones and soils, of plants and insects could develop about 40 different orchid species which are represented among the genus Cephalantera, Dactylorhiza. Epipactis, Himantoglossum, Nigritella, Ophrys, Orchis, Platanthera und Serapias. Please contact us for further information.

Dies ist keine typische Jugendherberge, sondern eine erstklassige Unterkunft für Toskanareisende, die nichts dagegen haben sich Bad und Küche zu teilen. Wer die Toskana erkunden will hat hier genau das Richtige zu einem unschlagbaren Preis. Unser Zimmer war komfortabel und wir genossen einen herrlichen Ausblick. Alles ist sauber und die Betreuung ist gut. Es wird Deutsch gesprochen. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Diese Jugendherberge ist absolut zu empfehlen. Santa Luce ist ein kleines toskanisches Dorf in Hanglage mit weitem Blick über die Toskana. Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön, großzügig, sauber und die Aussicht sehr gut. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet, und das Bad (Vorraum, 2 Toiletten in der ersten Etage, Dusche) großzügig. Die Betreuung ist sehr engagiert, nett und freundlich. Und alles zum kleinen Preis.
Von Santa Luce sind viele toskanische Städte, die umliegende Landschaft und auch der Strand gut zu erreichen, allerdings ist ein Auto Pflicht.
Wir sind sicherlich nicht das letzte Mal dort gewesen!

Santa Luce liegt so günstig in der Toskana, dass man in 15 Minuten mit dem Auto am Strand von Rosignano ist und auch sonst wunderbar umherfahren, Landschaften und Städtchen besichtigen kann. Aus dem am Hang gelegenen Ostello hat man einen wunderschönen Blick auf die Landschaft und den kleinen, typisch toskanischen Ort. Und man sollte unbedingt mindestens einmal mit Jean Claude wandern gehen!!!

Das Hostel ist superschön, gepflegt und liegt sehr ruhig. Es gibt eine große Küche, zwei große Bäder und aus den Zimmern hat man einen tollen Blick! Ideal für alle, die mal abschalten wollen und dafür nicht so viel zahlen können. Einziger Nachteil: Man fährt ca. 20-30 Minuten zum nächsten Strand, Supermarkt etc. Mit Auto ist das aber kein Problem!
