Wonderful, child friendly vacation house at the Dutch coast
A wonderful, child-friendly, private vacation house for 7 people + 1 baby/toddler. Suitable the whole year. Located at the border of coastal village Burgh-Haamstede (Schouwen-Duiveland, Zeeland), in a quiet, beautiful area, at a quiet street and long drive way. Very close to sea, beach, dunes, forests, nature areas. Full privacy and quietness. Its large, completely fenced, child-friendly garden has playground, sandbox, trampoline, BBQ and offers lots of privacy. Conveniently located: 5 min by bike to the village, 10 bike min to North Sea with its wonderful beaches, the beautiful Osterschelde (a large sea arm), nature reservations and forests. The house is fully equipped. Kids' stuff and toys available. From our house, you can go to the large, broad, quiet sand beaches of Schouwen-Duiveland, all within 10 bike min. You can practice various water sports (wind-surfing, kite-surfing, sailing, fishing, etc). You can make (mountain) bike tours, ride horse, play golf or tennis.

Our vacation house is at the edge of Burgh-Haamstede, a pleasant, mostly quiet little village on the beautiful island 'Schouwen-Duiveland', part of the state Zealand: a southern Dutch coastal state, consisting of different islands, inter-connected by large bridges and/or dams. It is close (10 km) to Zierikzee, a larger, beautiful, historical harbour village. The island is surrounded by sea (Northsea) and sea-arms (Oosterschelde). Wonderful bike tours can be made along the Oosterschelde and in the dunes. Zeeland is safely protected from the sea by the impressive and world famous 'Deltawerken'. In the summer, the other islands can also be reached by special small ferries, accessable only to cyclists and pedestrians. Schouwen-Duiveland has a pleasant, often sunny climate. It has endless, large, broad, quiet sand beaches, protected dunes, nature reservations and forests. It is also wonderful during mid- and low season, when it is very quiet and flora and fauna are even more beautiful.
Local activities swimming, tennis, walking, sailing, cycling, fishing, horse riding, golf, wind-surfing, water skiing, mountain biking, diving

| Notes: | The house is completely equipped and cosy. It is centrally heated has and floor heater in living room. Therefore it is also very suitable for vacations during mid season and winter period, when the area is very quiet. It is made child-safe with: outlet protectors, stair fence, bed fences, stove fence, etc. There are many outdoors and indoors toys and lots of kid's stuff (e.g. baby folding beds, baby bath tub, high chair, booster seat, etc) available. The garden is very large, completely fenced, child friendly and private. It has a playground with swings (also baby swings), climbing rope, slide, sandbox with sand toys, etc. and from May - Sept a large trampoline (for 4 - 18 year olds). The garden shed contains different spaces: 1 with toilet, washing machine and clothes dryer, 1 with shower, 1 storage room for garden toys, kids' stuff, tools, etc. 2 Good children's bikes (4-8 year olds), a tricycle and children's garden furniture in the shed. Washing machine: available March - October. |
Special extras: beach cabin, stocks
During the summer season (May - September) we rent a small beach cabin at one of the most beautiful sand beaches of the Netherlands. It is available for our guests: the key is in the house. In this small cabin there are 2 beach chairs and you can store your stuff (toys, towels, fishing nets, etc). It is located at the beach of 'Nieuw-Haamstede', only 10 bicycle minutes from our house, in a beautiful area and very close to the light house. This sand beach is very broad and clean. Even during peak season it is quiet and you will always have ample space to sit, play, swim and still have a very good overview and be able to see your children. During spring, autumn and winter the beach and sea are also very special and beautiful: sometimes stormy, sometimes tranquil and serene. It is wonderful to be there, regardless of weather or season. To make life easy for our guests we keep basic essentials (tea, coffee, salt, sugar, herbs, cleaners, etc) available.
Low-season
Our house is fully equipped and central heated with floor heating in the living room. It is therefore also very suitable for off-season vacations. In the springtime the area is still very quiet and nature is most beautiful: flowers and trees are blooming, the nature reserves are wonderful and many birds return from their winter residences. The weather can be really nice and you may be able to sit in the garden and on the beach. If it is colder you can make beautiful bicycle tours or walks. In the fall the area is also quiet, it can be very stormy (but sometimes also rainy). The storms in Zeeland give you the most wonderful views and you will be impressed by the sea (the land is very well protected from the sea by innumerable impressive dikes, dams and dunes). Long, quiet beach walks are wonderful during this period. In the winter the area is very quiet and even serene and you can enjoy complete rest. All sports (even wind- and kite surfing are also available during low-season).
Children
The house and the garden were equipped by parents with young children. We made our house and garden child friendly and safe. The garden is completely fenced and very suitable for children all ages. In the garden a well maintained playground with many accessories (of course you need to supervise your children while playing). Sand in the sandbox is replaced every year. In the house: outlet protectors, bed fences, stove fence, stair fence, etc. We also have various indoor toys and games and outdoor toys for different ages. We keep all these things available for our guests and really hope guests will keep them as nice and complete as they should be, so our and other children can enjoy them as well! For babies and toddlers: 2 folding baby/toddler beds with mattresses, sheets, blankets, 1 high chair, 1 booster seat, 1 baby bath tub, 1 folding dressing table. We also have a tricycle and 2 children's bicycles available. Other bicycles can be rented in the village.
Other Activities Kite-surfing
