Fully equipped, modern holiday appartment with charme and comfort (central heating), located in a quiet street near the local food market and the Museum of Modern Art, and 15 min. from historical centre (Palacio Nacional). The apartment occupies the first and top-floor of the villa. First floor: living room with terrace, big modern kitchen, a dining room and a full bathroom. Attic: three bedrooms with high ceilings(visible roof), one showerroom and one bathroom. There is a small yard with a wooden deck and a barbecue. Sintra is an area of outstanding beauty and cultural interest, UNESCO World Heritage site. The rural character of the village and the quiet location allows you to have a peaceful time. It has a rich and stimulating cultural offer, and many options for active holidays (golf, beach, trekking). The Atlantic is 12 km away and Lisbon can be reached in 30 min by car or about 40 min by train (trainstation is 8 min walk).

  • The prices apply for up to 4 people. Extra person per day 15 euros in low season and 20 euros in high season, max of 6 people. Children until 9 years pay 10 Euro. Rental of towels and sheets included. Extra costs: Final cleaning 50 Euros, heating costs depending on the season.
  • When making the reservation, a bank transfer payment of 30% of the rental price is required. The remaining 70% should be paid 10 weeks before the holiday. A caution of 200 euros in cash is required upon arrival and will be paid back at the end of the holiday period after checking of the apartment.
  • Changeover day Saturday, but flexibel in low-season.

Beaches and Watersports: There are peaceful, sandy coves - ideal for children, wild rocky beaches and beaches the are ideal for surfing or body board: For the latter water sports particularly Praia do Guincho and Praia Grande should be mentioned, which have been the stage for various World Championships of these sports.

To feel like at home: Games, guidebooks, films and music CDs as well as fast wireless internet at your disposal. Our fully-equipped kitchen has oven, stove, microwave and dishwasher, tea and coffeemaker, utensils, plates, glasses, cookware, spices and Portuguese cookbooks, in English. You will find also find an iron and an ironing board.

Serra de Sintra:: Tourist information: Known in ancient times as Mons Lunae (the Hills of the Moon), because of its strong traditions of astral cults, still clearly visible in the region's countless monuments and archaeological remains, the Serra de Sintra is a granite outcrop roughly 10 km long, rising abruptly between a vast plain to the north and the estuary of the River Tagus to the south. It is a mountain range that twists and turns, projecting into the Atlantic Ocean to form Cabo da Roca - the headland that marks the westernmost point of' continental Europe. The Serra de Sintra today contains a fabulous collection of monuments from a whole host of different epochs, ranging from prehistoric times to the present day. Thanks to its unique microclimate, Sintra has some of the most beautiful parks in Portugal, planted in keeping with a certain romantic taste, as well as a dense and verdant natural vegetation, affording the region an air of great majesty amidst the splash of different greens.

Excellent House in a Wonderful Village

We have just spent a week at Casa Jose Ricardo and I would find it extremely difficult to mention any shortcoming to the property.

Although the house looks impressive in the web page photographs, in real life it is probably even better. Wonderful taste as far as the furnishing or the decoration are concerned.

The kitchen in particular is absolutely fulled equipped and so spacious that we did not use the separate dinning room.

To top it all, Sintra continues to be a wonderful place to go and, with the house being in a quiet part of the city (15 minutes walk to the National Palace) the high level of tourists in summer is but a very minor inconvenience while the beach a short car-ride away.

Highly recommended.

Geheimtipp zum Relaxen und Genießen

Wir waren im Mai 2009 in dieser wunderschön renovierten, gepflegten Künstlervilla. Die super gut und vollständig ausgestattete, gemütliche Küche (sogar Fondue) war der Mittelpunkt des Hauses. Wir haben frischen Fisch aus der Markthalle genossen, auf der idyllischen Terrasse gefrühstückt und die Seele baumeln lassen. Sintra ist der "Garten Eden" auf Erden mit seiner einmaligen Landschaft, die wir gerne auch zu anderen Jahreszeiten noch kennenlernen möchten. Ausflüge mit dem Zug nach Lissabon (man kommt direkt in der Stadtmitte an) oder mit der alten Bahn zum "Apfelstrand" können wir jedem nur empfehlen. Auch der Nationalpalast und das Maurenkastell benötigen zum wirklichen erforschen mehr als einen Besuch. Für eine Familie oder eine Gruppe von 6-8 Personen das ideale Urlaubsdomizil. Wir kommen ganz sicher wieder - vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit!
Owner's Response: Wenn Sie mal einmal eine Pause vom Stress des Nordens brauchen, kommen Sie nach Sintra und geniessen Sie portugiesische Lebensart, mediterrane Küche und die ganz besondere Atmosphäre unseres Chalets.

Sehr schöne, gepflegte und geräumige Villa, ruhige Lage in Sintra, sehr komfortabel eingerichtet, mit viel Platz und guter Ausstattung (TV, DVD-, CD-Player, Bücher, Reiseliteratur, Spiele, etc.) - auch die Küche super ausgestattet und lädt ein zum Kochen. Optimale Lage für Wanderungen und Kultur-, Geschichtsinteressierte, wundervolle Parks zu besichtigen. Lissabon ohne Auto gut erreichbar. Angaben d. Vermieters stimmen abslolut mit Gegebenheiten vor Ort überein. Die Villa würden wir unseren Freunden immer empfehlen - haben es bereits erfolgreich getan!

Urlaub für jeden Geschmack in Top Lage

In der Villa Jose Ricardo haben ich und mein Mann einen unvergesslichen ( 2 Wochen waren viel zu kurz) Urlaub verbracht. Das sehr schöne und stilvolle Anwesen liegt zentral und doch ruhig im historischen Zentrum von Sintra.
Ringsum laden Parks, der Palacio National und das Castelo dos Mouros zu Ausflügen und Wanderungen ein.
Die nahe Umgebung bietet eine ideale Mischung aus Naturerlebnis und Kultur/ Architektur.
Die traumhaften Strände Sitntras sind mit der historischen Strassenbahn gut zu erreichen und die etwa 15 minütige Fahrt ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis.
Hier findet man noch ursprüngliche "Fischerkneipen", jenseits des touristischen Einerlei anderer Badeorte.
Besonders erwähnenswert sind die sehr entgegenkommenden Vermieter Dagmar und Richard, der hervorragende Zustand der Villa und die vielen gemütlichen Ecken derselben.
Das Haus bietet u.a. eine Vielfalt von DVD`s, Büchern und Spielen, welches wir zu schätzen wussten.
Es war für alles bestens gesorgt.
Wenn es uns dennoch nach Ausgehen war, gab es in Laufweite einige sehr interessante Restaurants und Bars, teilweise mit Live- Musik oder DJ`s.

Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen und diesmal länger bleiben
