Photos and Description of this Caldana holiday chateau / country house

A typical Tuscan country house, both charming and comfortable, consisting of a living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom/WC and terrace. Podere Le Chiuse, Calda, location for the German TV series ‘ein Haus in der Toskana’. The estate on which the house stands contains a magnificent 13 hectare olive grove set on the edge of Caldana. The house has been restored and has its own driveway and a superb view of the Monte Amiata. You can walk around the grounds of our house, discover our picturesque olive grove. Caldana is 7 min away on foot with a bank, bar, restaurant, church, coop and many other shops. The house has terraces set apart equipped with loungers where you can relax under old olive trees, some of which are 800 years old. Sleeps 2-4 people and equipped with radio, CD, tape recorder. Enjoy the delightful terraces and abundance of flowers - lavender and natural herbs can be picked. Biological farming techniques have been applied at Le Chiuse for over 30 years. Individual pizza oven.

Caldana is a medieval Tuscan village with about 1000 inhabitants which stands on a hill 300 metres above sea level. It looks onto the Etruscan city of Vetulonia and was the setting for the German TV series ‘ein Haus in der Toskana’. Here you will find dreamy alleyways, music festivals in the summer and the autumn, local Tuscan cuisine in the Giardino, bars, restaurants, banks, grocer’s stores, Pepe the baker’s, gelaterias and friendly, open people. Le Chiuse borders on Caldana, which we visit from time to time when we want to go for a stroll. The surrounding area offers interesting excursions: the mining museum at Gavorrano, 10 minutes; the excavations at the site of the Etruscan city of Vetulonia; the nature park at Maremma, 30 minutes; the Monte Argentario peninsula; the thermal baths at Saturnia, 60 minutes, and the Parco de Tarocci Niki de Sant Phalle. Impeccable beaches at Castiglione della Pescaia – Punta Ala. Excursions to the Island of Elba.

Notes: Our house contains a 55 m² apartment. 2 – 4 people can stay here. It contains a living room, a kitchen, a bedroom, a bathroom with shower and WC as well as a terrace. Outside there is a large shared terrace with barbecue and sun loungers. The house is surrounded by 13 hectares ideal for walking.

Golf: There are two well-landscaped golf courses nearby. The first is at Pelagone, 18 hole course about 10 minutes by car. The second is at Punta Ala; a superb, challenging 18 hole course, par 72, 6168 m with a direct view of the Island of Elba which can be reached in 25 minutes. One of Italy’s most beautiful golf greens.

We would like to thank the owners again for the wonderful time we spent in their lovely house. They welcomed us very warmly and received us in their home where we had all the privacy we needed and also the best accomodation possible. The olive grove is spectacular and we also spent two beautiful days just hanging around and chilling out. Everything was perfect and we highly reccomend the place.

Ein wunderschönes alleinstehendes Haus in einer wundervollen Umgebung! Wer Entspannung und ein gepflegtes, sauberes Apratment mit einer tollen Terasse sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Absolute Ruhe und eine wunderschöne Landschaft. Egal in welche Richtung man von dem Haus aus geht, überall findet man Liegeplätze. Das in diesem Haus noch andere Gäste waren haben wir kaum mitbekommen. Man ist für sich allein und kann sich herrlich entspannen.
Mit dem Auto ist alles bequem zu erreichen.
Die Vermieter waren sehr herzlich und hilfsbereit, wir haben uns willkommen gefühlt und kommen wieder!

Ein wundervolles, rustikales Landhaus mit einem riesigen Olivenhain. Viele Möglichkeiten sich zurück zu ziehen und und die Ruhe zu genießen. Zudem kam noch der ganz nette Kontakt zu den Vermietern dazu. "Danke für die Tipps mit den Motorrädern"
