The old stone farmhouse “Vignale” stands on the gentle southern slopes of the hills about 10 km north of the city of Lucca near the village of Segromigno in Monte. The farmhouse, on two floors, has been lovingly restored to preserve the original rustic character of the building with wooden beamed ceilings and terracotta floors but has all modern conveniences. It consists of two fully independent units, one of which is for rent while the other is lived in by the owners. The comfortable living room has a fully equipped cooking corner including dishwasher & microwave. The rental unit sleeps four persons (two bed rooms) with one and a half bathrooms. Another full bathroom is located in the side building close to the swimming pool. All windows are equipped with mosquito nets. Vignale stands in the midst of a large olive grove. The whole area is very quiet and peaceful. Vignale is ideally located for guests who wish to visit the many art centres and natural beauty spots of Tuscany.

• At the time of booking, 30% of the total price is due. Prices quoted are for one week and include water, gas, electricity, bed and table linen and towels. Other activities around Vignale

Bicycles can be rented in Lucca and there are quiet country roads in the slopes around “Vignale” for bicycle rides and for jogging. Children will find plenty to keep them happy on the large property, playing on the fields among the trees or in the pool or having their parents take them to the fine sand beaches of Viareggio or to the “Parco di Pinocchio” at the village of Collodi, where Carlo Collodi, the author of the famous children’s book “Pinocchio” lived and worked. Collodi is only a few miles away from “Vignale”.

A working farm

The “Vignale” farm is operational and produces some of the best olive oil (Olio extra vergine di oliva) that has made Lucca famous world-wide for its quality olive oil.
