Surrounded on three sides by water, the abbey is nestled in over 20 acres of private garden grounds, extending down to the southern shoreline of Loch Ness. Two spectacular and well proportioned 2-bedroom flats (Moat House 4-5 Pers., Aonach Mor 4 Pers.). Moat House -The unique historic character of the living area is enhanced by beautifully detailed stained glass windows and original wall coving. Aonach Mor, in the modern wing enjoys spectacular views over the grounds. Both flats with fully equipped kitchen with 'state of the art' appliances. The quaint, picturesque village of Fort Augustus is only a 2 min. walk away with several local restaurants, pubs and a supermarket. The Boathouse restaurant on the grounds offers a delicious selection of high quality local dishes. Club lounge now open !

The abbey is bordered by the Caledonian Canal on one side, the river Tarff on the other and Loch Ness at the front. There are regular bus connections to Inverness and Fort William from Fort Augustus. Fort Augustus is approx. 3 hours from Edinburgh and Glasgow - during the drive you will have the chance to savour some of the most spectacular scenery Scotland has to offer, not to mention the chance to stop in at various whisky distilleries on the way! The abbey is set in an area of breathtaking beauty and tranquillity - an absolutely unique experience!

  • Although the complex is now 80% complete the rent does reflect the fact that some work is still on-going in the abbey church, the last building to be renovated, situated to the far right of the apartment. This should not inconvenience you as this area has been cordoned off and no noise is expected.

Altehrwürdige Gemäuer und moderne Wohnung, jede Menge Freizeit- und Sportmöglichkeiten und hilfsbereite Ansprechpartner vor Ort.

Ein toller Ausgangspunkt um die Highlnads zu erkunden aber auch ein Rückzugsort -auch mit Kindern- wenn das Wetter mal etwas länger "schottisch" ist.

Wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an wohl gefühlt und haben die Anlage nur schweren Herzens wieder verlassen.

Mit diesem Urlaub haben wir uns einen lang gehegten Traum verwirklicht. Alles war genau so schön, wie von der Besitzerin im Internet beschrieben. Da wir Fans von historischen Gebäuden sind, blieben gerade bei dieser tollen und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichteten Wohnung keine Wünsche offen. Auch unsere Teenager-Kids waren begeistert.Die Schotten sind mega-freunlich, Wetter war auch toll. Die Formalitäten mit der Ferienwohnung total easy. Lob an die Besitzerin und ihre Freundin, die uns empfing. Wir kommen mit Sicherheit wieder.

Diese Wohnung ist in der Tat eine Traumwohnung - ich dachte ich träume, als ich auf das Kloster zufuhr und schon damit rechnete gleich Eintritt zahlen zu müssen... aber das entpuppte sich als unser Wochenend-Domizil direkt am Loch Ness.

Die Highlights:

Eine stilvoll eingerichtete Wohnung, in der man gleich merkt, dass sich die Inhaber hier selbst ein Rückzugsdomizil geschaffen haben.

Hochwertigste Ausstattung in Bad, Küche, Wohnbereich.

Wunderschöne Parkanlage mit Tennisplatz, Badminton Court, Tischtennisplatte und direktem Seezugang.

Fort Augustus ist in 3 Minuten Laufweite.

Klasse Restaurant auf dem Areal.

Auf der Wiese vor dem Loch ist ein Picknickgelände mit Grills und ein Croquet Parcours aufgebaut.

Die Wohnung ist als Ausgangspunkt für unvergessliche Wanderungen genauso geeignet wie für ein romantisches Kuschelwochenende.

Traumhafte Unterkunft - faszinierende Landschaft

Wir haben die Wohnung als Ausgangspunkt für diverse Wanderungen (z.B. Ben Nevis) und Ausflüge in den Highlands genutzt.

Das Kloster liegt direkt am See und bietet wirklich eine spektakuläre Sicht auf den See und die Umgebung. Allein das Kloster ist eine Reise Wert - wie man auf den Foto's bereits erkennen kann.

Wir haben uns in der Top möblierten und gepflegten Wohnung sehr Wohl gefühlt. Aber auch das kleine Dorf mit seinen urigen Pub's bietet einem eine hervorragende Möglichkeit, nach einer langen Wanderung, bei einem schönen schottischen Whisky zu entspannen.

Von uns gibt es für die Unterkunft und die Region (und das Wetter im September), die volle Punktzahl.

Wir waren sicher nicht zum letzten Mal da!!!
