The lovely and fine equipped holiday cottage lies peacefully and directly at the Bolsena Lake. You cross the country road from the entrance gate and are at a beautiful bathing beach. It is surrounded by an 8 acre big olive tree plantage, where we produce our own olive oil. You will not forget your meals on the terrace looking at the lake. Downstairs in the house is a living room with a chimney, couch, fully equipped kitchen, upstairs the bedroom with a double bed, one extra bed, a shower/toilet. Nearby could you have your cappuccino or a drink in one place or a pizza, pasta and fresh caught fish from the lake, prepared from Maria the local fisherman’s wife in another place.

The Bolsena Lake is the biggest volcanic lake in Europe. 114 squarekm, 450 feet deep. The lake is famous for the clear water. The crater edges disappear in the valley landscape of the surrounding area. The lakeshore is nearly everyplace freely accessible. For every taste you find the right bathing beach, a bar or trattoria. For excursions: fisher villages around the lake, boat trip to the lake isle Bisentina, nature reservats at Monte Rufeno, Oasi di Alviano (WWF), hot natural springs for bathing at Saturnia, Bulicame, Terme dei Siena, Orvieto, Assisi, Perugia, Montepuciano etc. 40km to the mediteranian sea. Historic sides of the Etruscian time at Vulci, Tarquiniq, Tuscania. Local festivals. Something for everybody that loves nature, art, culture or historical sites.

Mitten in der Natur und doch nicht abseits

Wir haben den Aufenthalt im Delfino inmitten der Natur genossen. Der Blick vom Haus auf den See ist traumhaft. Die Nähe zum Strand und die vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten in dieser Gegend lohnen einen Aufenthalt. Wer es liebt, etwas abseits für sich zu sein und doch gerne in der Nähe einen Apéro oder ein Nachtessen direkt am Wasser geniesst, ist hier richtig. Wieder zu Hause erinnert uns das ausgezeichnete Olivenöl zum Glück noch eine Weile an unsere schönen Wochen im Delfino.

Die Beschreibung des Hauses durch den Vermieter ist zutreffend: sehr ruhig gelegen mit tollem Blick von der Terrasse auf den See.
Das Haus ist zweckmäßig eingerichtet.
Für Hunde ist die Umgebung ein Paradies, allerdings sollten die Hunde 15 kg nicht überschreiten, da sonst ein Transport über die sehr steile Treppe ins Schlafzimmer schwer möglich ist (oder aber der Hund schlaeft unten).
Wenn jemand empfindlich ist, unbedingt Mückenschutz(Autan) mitnehmen, nicht fuer im Haus (Fliegengitter überall vorhanden), sondern für draussen.
Bei Fragen stand der Vermieter mit Rat und Tat zur Seite.
In 100 m Entfernung, der Hauseinfahrt gegenüber, befindet sich ein uriges Fischrestaurant. Dienstags Ruhetag. In 500 m ist eine ordentliche Pizzeria. Gute Lokale sind in Bolsena. Ca. 20 Autominuten entfernt.
In naher Umgebung, ca 20-40 km, gibt es Sehenswuerdigkeiten zuhauf.
Pitigliano, Orvieto, Bolsena und viele andere Staedte. Ein absolutes Muss Bagnoregio.
Insgesamt ein wunderschoener Urlaub in sehr ruhiger, traumhafter Umgebung.

Haus entsprach außen und innen der Beschreibung und somit unseren Erwartungen. Toll der Seeblick von der Frühstücksterrasse aus.
Ungewöhnlich freundlich, hilfsbereit und kompetent war die Betreuung durch die Vermieterin bei kleinen Problemen (z.B. auf unseren Wunsch sofort gelieferter kleiner Backherd; Unterstützung bei gesundheitlichen Problemen und bei Ausflugsplanungen).
Auch deshalb hatten wir einen rundum gelungenen Urlaub am Bolsena-See.
Empfehlenswert; wegen einer steilen Innentreppe jedoch nicht für bewegungseingeschränkte Personen - worauf jedoch in der Ankündigung bereits hingewiesen worden war.

Naturverbunden und Erholsam

Wer Urlaub in Ruhe verbringen will ist hier gut aufgehoben. Zeit zum Lesen und Relaxen ist angesagt. Mal ohne Fernseher die Natur geniessen von Oliven- und Feigenbäumen umgeben und den tollen Blick auf dem Bolsenasee geniessen. Lange Abende mit schönen Sonnenuntergängen werden uns noch lange in Erinnerung bleiben.
