Luxury holiday for individualists - it is possible here. Romantic small townhouse at the edge of Selles-sur-Cher, build in 1850, lovingly and precisely restored. Year-long stays are possible. All Châteaux of the Loire Valley are 15 - 60 min away. Townhouse with a secluded garden, two-storey, American kitchen, living/dining room with open fireplace, television room with designer sleeper sofa, 2 luxurious shower baths, hair dryer, 2 bedrooms, alarm system, satellite television, stereo system, telephone with fax & answering machine, internet access, luxury kitchen with ceramic cooker and oven with integrated microwave oven, extraction hood, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer combination Washing machine, dryer, parking space on the property, Dutch bicycles, American gas grill for the terrace, garden furniture with seating for 8, sun beds. Selles is about 2 hrs. southwest of Paris in the Loir-et-Cher Departement. For those seeking culture and history you can find almost every famous Châteaux of the Loire Valley in the area: Valencay, Chenonceaux, Cheverny, Chambord, Montrichard, Azay-le-Rideau and hundreds of unknown, but still charming Châteaux are about 15 to 60 min away. There is a rich variety of activities in the nearby cities of Blois, Tours, Amboise or Orleans: Galleries, museums, jumble sales, theatre, summer festivals, award-winning cuisine, shopping. On the outskirts of the cities, it is very laid-back, the country charm of the Sologne, Berry and Blésois regions still remains today. Visits to country markets, vineyards and cheese producers is worth it. Sport and recreational activities like hunting, hiking, fishing, golf, horse riding and canoeing are highlights.

Die Entscheidung, zwei Ferienwochen in La Thizardière zu verbringen, war ein Volltreffer: Hier stimmt wirklich alles.

Schon gleich nach dem Eintreffen wird klar, dass das Haus mehr bietet, als man von einem Mietobjekt erwarten kann. Man spürt an allen Ecken, dass es sich der Eigentümer hier gut gehen lassen will, und der Gast partizipiert mit Freuden. Für den Selbstversorger hält die Küche alles Nützliche parat. Die gesamte Ausstattung sorgt für ein wohnliches Ambiente. Reiseführer und Kartenmaterial sind ebenso reichlich vorhanden wie Prospekte von Ausflugszielen.
Dass nicht nur das gepflegte und äußerst saubere Haus, sondern auch Terrasse und Garten zum Verweilen einladen, mindert zwar den Erkundungsdrang, steigert jedoch den Erholungswert. Hat man sich dann doch mit Rad, PKW oder auch mit der Bahn (z.B. nach Tours oder Bourges) auf den Weg gemacht - wobei die Fülle des Sehenswerten schon im 40-km-Radius unerschöpflich ist -, kehrt man nach den Exkursionen stets gern "nach Hause" (!) zurück.

Doch nicht nur Urlaubsdomizil und Region können punkten. Außerordentlich erfreulich sind die Abwicklung der Vermietung und die vielfältigen detailgenauen Informationen des Vermieters, die keinen Zweifel lassen: Auch dem Gast soll es gut gehen.

"Entschleunigung" - Abschalten vom Alltag

Wir sind im letzten Juni in diesem wunderschönen Ferienhaus gewesen und waren und sind total begeistert. Das Häuschen ist sehr schön eingerichtet, man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Anders als in vielen Ferienhäusern muss man hier nicht auch noch das Salz etc. mitbringen. Das Haus ist für alle geeignet die Ruhe suchen, die Natur schätzen und einfach die Seele baumeln lassen wollen. Es ist sehr schön und liebevoll eingerichtet. Bis zu 4 Personen können problemlos unterkommen.
Viele der Schlösser kann man per Rad erreichen, auch Ungeübte schaffen die Touren. Selles ist touristisch nicht überlaufen, die Leute sind extrem hilfsbereit. Besonders zu empfehlen ist der Ziegenkäse der Region - ein Genuss.
Fazit: wir können das Häuschen nur wärmstens empfehlen. Danke an die Vermieter, der Service rund um die Vermietung war ebenfalls klasse.

Ruhe und Erholung pur in gepflegtem Ambiente

Wer ein gepflegtes und ruhiges Haus sucht, das nahe zu den Touristenattraktionen von Cher und Loire, selber aber in einem vom Tourismus eher weniger berührten Ort liegt, der wird sich in La Thizardière wohlfühlen. Der Kanal gleich hinter dem Haus lädt zu Spaziergängen und Mountainbiken ein, manch kleines Schloss lässt sich mit dem Rad vom Haus aus erkunden. Die Räume sind behaglich und originell zugleich eingerichtet, Küche und Bäder sind auf neuestem Stand. Durch die je zwei Schlafzimmer und Bäder ist das Haus gut für Freundespaare nutzbar. Auch wenn wir Internet und Fax im Urlaub bewusst nicht genutzt haben: Es wäre gegangen! Die gesamte Abwicklung der Vermietung läuft generös und vertrauensvoll, die Vorinformationen waren ausgsprochen gründlich und zutreffend.
Wer allerdings abends noch etwas Größeres unternehmen will oder das Bedürfnis nach Unterhaltung hat, ist auf das Auto und die gut erreichbaren ferner liegenden Zentren angewiesen. Selles sur Cher verfügt nur über kleine Pizzerien und ein Hotel am Platze und ist vom Nachtleben wenig berührt.
