Location, nature, beaches:
Quinta Bravo has a quiet, yet not isolated location. North from the house, there is the center with church. To the East, there is a picturesque, hilly landscape over the vineyards, olive and almond groves, up to the mountain chain. The southern part offers a beautiful view upon the tree tops up to the sea, at the horizon. Even in December the surrounding fields are covered by yellow flowers. The ‘snow of Algarve’ is represented by the almond flowers in January and February. Here, you can forget about the daily stress and feel free to enjoy life and tank energy. The beaches can be reached by car: Cova Redonda, Senhora da Rocha, Marinha, Armação de Pera etc. There are Mediterranean markets with a rich offer (fruit, vegetables, cheese, fresh fish, regional delicacies) in Armação de Pera (5 km away) and Lagoa (6 km away). In just a few minutes, you will find numerous supermarkets, including Aldi.
The vacation house/ service:
Both from the living room and from the kitchen, you have direct access to the terraces, without stairs. You can enjoy your meals at a round table in the eat-in kitchen, in the dining area of the living room, or at a marble table on the Eastern terrace. Quinta Bravo also has a very efficient fireplace, recirculating the air in the living room, as well as electric heating in all the rooms, including bathroom. Rheuma covers for the colder seasons are also available. The cleaning of the house, as well as the changing of the linen takes place once a week. A gardener takes care of the estate. A contact person lives in the neighbourhood. She talks a little bit of German, good English, French and Portuguese and can help you whenever you need.
Sport, leisure time and culture:
In the neighbourhood, you will find sport and leisure activity offers, an amusement park, a delphinarium, etc. 1.5 km from Porches, there is a stable, where you can book a riding course. In ca. 3.5 km, you can reach a tennis court. You can take hiking tours over the fields and cliffs, along the impressive cliffy coast. We recommend you to take a trip to the mountain world of Monchique, or to the historical city of Silves, which is surrounded by a Moorish fortress. There are is a wide cultural offer: musical events with classical and Portuguese music, guitar music and Fado, sand sculpture festival, exhibits, museums, guided hiking tour or visits of historical and interesting places.
Golf:
Algarve is beloved among the golf players. There are golf courses of all categories and levels of proficiency everywhere: Gramacho (9 km from Porches), Pinta (9 km, high level of proficiency). Exclusive golf courses such as Alvor, Palmares, Palm Cliff, Vale do Lobo, are located 20 - 36 km away.
