Cala Ratjada is located on the northeast of the island. It was originally the harbour of Capdepera and is still today the island´s second largest fishing harbour. The castle of Capdepera - which was the most important settlement on the island during Roman times - offers a wonderful view of the region and can be reached by foot within 1 hour. Due to its picturesque country, storybook like beaches, original city center and the effervescent nightlife, Cala Ratjada is a popular vacation destination for both young and adults, single people and families. Different (excursion) boats departing from Cala Ratjada for the nearby Menorca island. The appearence of the place is certainly represented by the harbour, the typical small, the old Mallorcan fisher houses, the church and the Pine plaza which serves as a market place on Saturdays. Placid cafés invite you to dwell. Out of Cala Ratjada´s 8 beaches Cala Cuya beach is the most beautiful one.
