Hallo and welcome in Cologne, in this completely renovated house dating back to the turn of the century. In the middle of the house, you will find 3 light, comfortable furniture pieces made of massive wood. There we arranged a guest room. We also thought of many details, such as a dryer in the bathroom or an alarm clock in the room. 2 bathrooms/ WC belong to the house as well. You can enjoy the different TV channels, as a cable TV is there for you. Once you are here, you will definitely come back. Around the Carnival, the Carnival Procession on Sunday passes by our house. In just a few minutes by foot, you are on the beautiful shore of the Rhine. This place is an oasis for you to rest, to go swimming, jogging and inline, and if you want, you can go from the Niehl, along the Rhine bank into the old city center and further on. Moreover, you can enjoy the racetracks, the popular Colognian Zoo and the Botanic Garden, the Colognian Dome and the Fühlinger Lake.

This is a VERY nice place to stay, neighborhood is beautiful, very quiet and yet so close to the city, it just takes 10 or so minutes to get to Cathedral and Central Station by tram (5 minutes walking time to the tram stop). Rooms are clean and spacious even. Kitchen is equipped with everything one would need to cook and serve meals (there are plenty of restaurants and beer establishments too in the area). There were 5 of us visiting Cologne for holiday (we used the holiday apartment on top floor) and we really felt like at home.

First time visit to Germany

September 2008 my husband and I spent three days, and had a wonderfull time in Koln. We were on the fourth floor and we looked out over the area out the top floor windows. There was no lift but we only went in and out one time a day for we were busy in town. The house was easy to find and close to the train stop. A nice walk through a cozy little neighborhood. The owner was very accomodating and extremely helpful. There were rooms on the third floor that were also rented. The space we were in was small, but clean, and the bed was confortable. There was a full size sofa bed that we never pulled out. There was coffee maker, a refridgerator and microwave. We spent our time seeing the attractions of Koln and walking the Rhine river nearby. We enjoyed being out of the tourist traps and the hotel room coldness.

Einfach zum Wohlfühlen

Wir waren sieben Frauen zwischen 30 und 38 Jahre alt und waren alle ausnahmslos mit der Ferienwohnung und dem Preis-/ Leistungsverhältnis sehr zufrieden. Es ist zwar etwas eng und "nur" mit einem Bad und einer Toilette ausgestattet, aber darauf hatte Frau Schwermer, die nette Gastgeberin des Hauses auch im Vorfeld schon hin gewiesen. Also es war klar, dass wir etwas enger zusammen rücken mussten. Die Wohnung ist ansonsten super gemütlich und liebevoll eingerichtet mit allem, was man so braucht. Ob das die sieben Zahnputzbecher, wie von den sieben Zwergen waren oder der Fön oder die Gelben Seiten und der Plasmabildschirm in der Küche. Einfach toll. Am liebsten saßen wir zu siebt beim Frühstück auf der Eckbank und den Stühlen um den Esstisch und haben lange geschlemmt und geratscht. Ein rund um schöner Aufenthalt. Besten Dank, liebe Frau Schwermer. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

My stay at this Property

The information in this listing is misleading as there is no way this apartment is suitable for 8 people. 1 bedroom has a pullout sofa double bed and above is a double bed made of a wood base and mattress, very close to the ceiling, (clostrophobic) that is accessed by an 8 foot ladder, plus a blow up bed. The other bedroom has 1 double bed and 1 pull out sofa single bed. There were 6 of us, 4 adults and 2 children and we found it very uncomfortable. The apartment is on the 3rd floor and there are 4 flights of stairs to climb with your luggage and no lift. You are also on the flightpath of the airport and the biggest annoyance for noise were the church bells that went berserk for 10 mins at 7am every morning, that were nearly next door to the property. Why they have listed it as having an alarm clock, god only knows as you certainly dont need 1 unless you intend getting up before 7 while on your holidays. There is also a list of do's and dont's, mainly dont leave any of the windows open when you go out, which made it uncomfortable when you came back at the end of the day, particularly as the temperature was in the 27 to 30 degree bracket during the duration of our stay. Cologne is a lovely city and we would definately visit again, but would most definately not use or stay at this Apartment. I would not recommend this to anybody. Mick.

auch diese „Bewertung“ soll nicht unbeantwortet
und ungeachtet bleiben.
Das ein stabiles Holzhochbett vorhanden ist steht beschrieben und ist auf den Bildern zu sehen.
Die Decken sind Altbaudecken somit über 3 m…ideal für eine Zwischenetage und ein Bett darauf zu platzieren. Einige Erwachsene haben sich schon darüber gefreut und gestritten wer oben schlafen darf.
Für Kinder ist es oft ein Traum der wahr wird.
Ein aufblasbares Bett gibt es nicht.
Vor der Buchung mit vielen Personen biete ich immer an noch Zimmer in der unteren Etage dazu zu mieten und gemeinsam die Küche und den Wohnbereich zu nutzen da ich es auch schon eng finde wenn sieben Leute dort wohnen.
Dann hat dies Haus nur Zwei Stockwerke und nicht drei es ist ein Haus das über 100Jahre alt ist
Und seinen Charme hat wer denkt da , dort sollte ein Aufzug sein ??Das war wirklich eine witzige Idee……
Der Flughafen ist Köln Bonn und hier fängt die Einflugschneise an aber wir sind in Köln Niehl der Flughafen in Köln Porz.
Die Kirche ist im Ort aber auch nicht neben dem Haus. Und Köln hat viele Kirchen wer kommt sollte das wissen.
Es wird wohl nicht so einfach eine Unterkunft zu finden in der man weit weg von einer Kirche ist.
Ja die Kirchenglocken läuten , dafür sind sie da ,-wir werden davon nicht wach aber jeder ist anders .
Zu den Regeln des Hauses
Die Fenster sollen nach Norden wenn man geht geschlossen werden weil es rein regnen könnte.
Das sind die Fenster von Bad und Kinderzimmer.
Die Fenster vom Elternschlafzimmer und der Küche betrifft das nicht.
Dann haben wir in Köln Mülltrennung nicht nur für die Umwelt zu schützen bitte ich darum den Müll in
Die dafür bereitgestellten Tonnen zu schmeißen. Wer dies hier nicht macht kann von der Stadt Köln
Mit wirklich hohen Geldstrafen belastet werden. Es gibt sogar eine Müllpolizei die dieses kontrolliert.
Das ich meinen Gästen in zwei Sprachen schreibe was sie besser nicht machen oder machen sollten
Geschieht aus Gastfreundlichkeit um Ihnen Folgekosten zu erspare wie zum Beispiel einen
Wasserschaden wegen offenem Fenster oder die Sache mit dem Müll .
Andere Länder andere Sitten….

Meine angebotenen Objekte sind gemütlich
Ökonomie Class und wirklich bezahlbar möchte ich sagen .

Es würde mich freuen Sie als meine Gäste begrüßen zu können so das Sie sich selbst ein Bild machen können.

Gut und Preiswert

Günstige Übernachtungsmöglichkeit und in zentraler Lage zwischen der Kölner Altstadt und dem Erholungsgebiet Fühlinger See.
Saubere, gemütliche Zimmer, perfekte Nahverkehrsanbindung.
Gleich um die Ecke gibt es einen Bäcker, Lebensmittelmarkt, Pizzeria und sogar eine Apotheke.
Und natürlich eine freundliche und hilfsbereite Vermieterin.
Also was will man mehr um einen schönen Aufenthalt in Köln zu haben.
Tip für Triathleten: Liegt fast an der Radstrecke und nur ca. 5km
vom Ziel entfernt.
