Beaches and Bays:
The beach entrance can lead to the left over one of the bays or to the right to the long beach (approx. 14 km without interruption), which follows up to the promenade of La Barrosa in Chiclana. When the tide ebbs a little, you can undertake lovely dreamlike walks beneath the steep coast, where various bays are situated, up to the Light house at the Conil harbour. If you rise early, you can buy fresh fish directly from the fishing cutter at the Conil harbour or alternatively buy them at the market. There are beautiful beaches, for example, in El Palmar (Hippie beaches among others), 'Trafalgar', Caños de Meca, where a few cosy Chill out Bars are situated. Simply ask us and we will try to give you good tips.
Shops-Restaurants-Cafes-Playground in Roche:
Roche: A small Supermarket, a Tapas 'Restaurant', a Bar (Tapas), a news office, a large children's playground, a small pharmacy, etc. are situated at a distance of approx. 5 minutes by foot. Various riding stables, a bicycle rental, ... are also present in the vicinity. *** Neighbourhood: A shopping center in Novo Sancti Petri with various shops, bars, restaurants etc. is at a distance of approx. 5 minutes by car, 'Bahia Sur' the large shopping center in San Fernando, with various small shops, Carrefour, various Restaurants, Mc Donalds, Burger King, Cinemas, garden centers etc. is at a distance of approx. 15 minutes by car as well as various other shopping centers like in approx. 15 driving minutes as well as various others are shopping center like department store (Corte Inglès) can be reached in approx. 25 minutes by car.
General + Tips and Options:
Please consider before booking that the Roche Urb is 'very lively' only in August. In the months following this, it keeps getting quieter till it is very peaceful (true relaxation!) until the somewhat gradual increase in the number of visitors for Easter. A certain number of white villages (e.g. Vejer, which was known as the most beautiful village of Spain – at a distance of 15 minutes by car), Visits to sherry plants (Jerez), the Cathedral in Cadiz, Jerez, Sevilla – various riding schools, the Königlichen in Jerez, - various harbours like e.g. Sancti Petri, Puerto Sherry (take a trip by ship from the Cadiz harbour towards Puerto Santa Maria approx. 35 minutes away/ approx. 3 € per person) are offered as picnic destinations. - One can visit a Flamenco school in Cadiz as well as follow its performances in specially selected bars. Other Activities:
Football, paddle (pinboard), basketball within approx. 10 minutes by foot. Golf equipment (men-women) & a wind surfing board as per availability.
