Upper Carniola - Gorenjska holiday apartment: Srednja vas

We had a really lovely time at this apartment (the larger one). The apartment is well provided for (we were 2 adults and a 1 yr old) with comfortable bedrooms and a good bathroom with bath and shower. The kitchen is the only room bar the bedrooms to sit in and has a table and chairs and a small chaise at the side to watch TV (basic level satellite), the balcony has plenty of space and stunning views of the mountains and pretty valley, nice BBQ area and garden to use outside. The family (local couple- kids grown up and moved away) are lovely and will wash clothes for you if you wish. There is a good shop in the village, a cash point, a couple of bars about 3 and 10 mins walk away and a pizzaria which does the largest pizzas I've ever seen, 1 between 2 even for glutons. The area is really pretty and seems to resemble a film set with mirror lakes surrounded by snow capped mountains, beautiful woodlands and crystal clear rivers (some great fishing but not cheap by the day). Bled is 20 mins away but the Bohinsjka lake is even more delightful. The lake is about 40mins walk or 5 mins in a car and the village by the lake has some nice hotels and amenities, good quality mountain bikes for hire, boat rides, good supermarket etc. We highly recommend the area and the apartment and intend to visit again. The pace of life is slow and peaceful in the village, very highly recommended all round.
