Looks could be deceiving

I did stay at this chalet between 11/7 – 18/7 09 with my wife and 2 kids. The chalet is located in a superb location, although getting to the chalet requires efforts, as you need to climb many stairs to reach it “imagine having to carry your luggage or anything else?). On the other hand, the chalet’s main bedroom contains a very bad bed and the furniture is old and not cleaned. It looks as if it was cleaned ages before and was not used for sometime. I developed backache and had to switch bed with my child. The owners were very nice and even asked us if we wanted to stay 1 or 2 extra nights without having to pay for them and that’s even we did not complain to them about anything.

Owner's Response: The family from Riyadh booked on very short notice, coming from another rental apartment, and appeared to like our place. We were driving from Bern to Grindelwald for their arrival and made sure, that the apartment was in good order and clean.
Yes, there are several steps from the parking space (ours is the first in line) to the chalet, and then more steps behind the chalet to the second floor. None of our guests ever complained about this step climbing, which is quite normal in Grindelwald.
Our quality furniture - as shown in the internet - is not new and serves its purpose well. It is unfair to say that it was not cleaned.
The matrasses in the master bedroom are new. Mrs. Lack sleeps well in our holiday apartment in spite of her back problems.
