Benalmadena and the area:
Benalmadena, in the heart of the Costa del Sol, is located approximately 20 km west of Malaga. With an average summer temperature of 27°C and 3,200 hours of sun each year it ranks among the warmest parts of Europe. Each successive year it attracts an increasing number of holiday makers. Your gateway to the sun is Malaga International Airport. Only two-and-a-half hours away from Britain and just fifteen minutes from the airport, and you are in Benalmadena where we will gladly welcome you as our guests. Benalmadena is actually made up of three towns: El Pueblo - a small Spanish village not far from the coast with its narrow streets and lots of flowers. Arroyo de la Miel - this is the center of the two communities. Here you will find shopping streets, the railway station, the large amusement park 'Tivoli World' a cable car and much more. La Costa – the 11 km of hotels and apartments which stretch along the coast. Here you will also find the famous marina of Benamadena, etc.
Arroyo de la Miel:
The leisure and entertainment park, TIVOLI WORLD, in Arroyo de la Miel opened in 1973 and offers a wide range of activities which will make your holidays an unforgettable experience. On Friday mornings between 10.00 and 14.00 the Arroyo de la Miel market is the place where you will find that special souvenir to take home. In the 'Casa de la Cultura' – the cultural centre – there is a permanent exhibition of paintings, as well as a tourist information office, where you can find all about the events, concerts, and meetings taking place during your stay. Another unforgettable experience is to take the „telecabina“, the cable car, up from the town to Mt. Calamorro (971m). From the top there is a fantastic view of the entire coast and on a clear day you can see Africa right across the Mediterranean. Sports fanatics are also catered for. In the centre of Arroyo de la Miel you will find a fitness centre, tennis courts, football pitches and classes of aerobics, judo, and much more.
Benalmadena Costa:
For something more relaxing we recommend the 'Parque de la Paloma', the Park of the Dove. Its gardens spread over 200.000m2, one of the largest in the region. With its children's playgrounds, zoo, parrot cages, cafés and much more, it is an absolute must for visitors. A new Dolphinarium has recently been opened at the Selwo Marina. It contains 1.67 hectares of water in which a wide range of sea creatures live: seals, dolphins and, unique on the Spanish peninsula, emperor penguins. El Puerto Deportivo de Benalmadena - In 1995 Benalmadena Marina was awarded the title of the World’s Most Beautiful Marina. With more than 1,000 berths it is the largest marina in the region and is surrounded by innumerable cafés, restaurants, discotheques, souvenir shops, providing entertainment day and night. From the port you can take trips up the coast to see dolphins in their natural habitat. If you prefer to stay on dry land you can visit Sealife, an underwater aquarium, and much more.
