La Candelarica is a typical, two-storey village house that was build at the end of the 19th century and fully-renovated in 1998. La 'Candelarica Alta' is an apartment with 1 bedroom (double bed), living room, bathroom and roof terrace on the first floor of this house. 'La Candelarica Baja' is on the ground floor with a separate entrance and has 1 bedroom with 2 beds, living room with kitchenette and bathroom with shower.' La Candelarica' can be rented as a whole or separately. The renovation was done in the Andalusian style with rustic materials and a lot of attention to detail. This romantic house is perfect for self-catering and individuals who are looking for a place where tourism does not mean anything. The close proximity to the ocean and hiking area make it a holiday destination for the whole year. The whitewashed village of El Borge has several businesses and guest houses it is in the La Axarquia region, the vineyards of Malagas.

El Borge is a quiet, whitewashed village with friendly residents, perfect for individualists. The Sierra de Tejeda and Almijara nature reserves and Montes de Malaga is nearby for hikers, also near the coast. The natural beach of Maro (Nerja) is great for swimming. You could take great day-trips to Malaga with the Picasso museum, the Roman theatre, the Museum of Modern Art (CAC) and the Old Town is nearby, the famous historic cities of Granada, (Alhambra) Cordoba (Moschee), Sevilla, Ronda and Antequera as well. There are several guest houses and some small shops were you can buy groceries in El Borge. The village is in the famous vineyards of the Muskatel grape, which is used to make Malaga sweet wine. The El Borge raisin festival is celebrated in September and the villagers invite everyone to taste the new wines. For the romantics, you can still see all the stars!

  • We bought our first house in El Borge, La Candelarica, in 1997. We restored the ruins with old materials and elements and lovingly put them together, so that our guests felt like they were 'home' in an Andalusian house. Afterwards, we restored out second house and built the 'Cortijo Lagar de Luisa'.

Liebevoll restauriertes Häuschen in El Borge

Das Haus beinhaltet 2 Wohnungseinheiten, eine im Erdgeschoss und eine im ersten Stock, welche wir bewohnen durften. Die Wohnung ist bis ins Detail liebevoll eingerichtet, so dass man sich sofort wohl fühlt. Obwohl das Haus mitten im Ort steht, konnten wir die wunderbare Ruhe geniessen und beim Blick aus den Fenstern oder von der kleinen Dachterasse das schöne Bild der umgebenden bergigen Landschaft bewundern. Jeder der keinen typischen "Neckermann-Urlauber" darstellt, wird diesen Platz zu würdigen wissen, der einem Gelegenheit bietet, das typische Dorfleben hautnah kennen zu lernen. In 3 Minuten Gehnähe findet man ein sehr nettes Dorflokal, in dem man für wenig Geld frühstücken kann, oder auch mal ein Mittag- oder Abendessen bestehend aus Tappas zu sich nehmen kann. Selbst unsere Hündin, die wir im Urlaub dabei hatten, durfte mit ins Lokal. Außerdem gibt es noch mind. 3 weitere Restaurants und einen Supermarkt im Ort. Wir hatten das große Glück, in El Borge das im September stattfindende Fest "Dia de la Pasa" (Tag der Rosine) mit zu erleben, welches mit kleinen Verkaufsständen, Essen, Trinken, Gesang und Tanz begangen wurde. Alles in allem können wir diese Unterkunft nur empfehlen. Wir haben selten so stark engagierte Vermieter erlebt, die uns zu jeder Zeit mit Rat und Tat zur Seite standen. Konfortabel zureuck in dem menslichen Tempo

Das Haus, La Candelarica Baja ist entsprechend die Angaben. Wir waren hier 5 Jahren her zum ersten mal und sind seitdem Jedes Jahr wiedergekommen. Im Fruehling, La Semana Santa, spanisches Ostern oder im Herbst, Dia de la pasa, das Rosinenfest.
Es ist ein sauber, gepflegtes und konfortabeles Haus. Die Betreuung ist ausgezeichnet, persoenlich und sorgfaltig.
Die Lage in die Mitte des Dorfes macht es fast selbstverstaendlich das man sich nach die Lebensweise des Landes schickt, was eine sehr angenehme Ruhe und Erholung mit sich bringt.Das einkaufen von taegliche Lebensbedarf in die kleine Geschaefte ist dazu auch einen Beitrag. Es ist ein ausgezeichnete Basis fuer Ausfluege nach der Kueste und Staedte wie Malaga und Granada und sogar Cordoba und Sevilla.
Die Vermieter ist sehr behilflich in der Vorbereitung zum Beispiel durch reservierung von Eintrittskarten fuer das Alhambra in Granada.
Wir wuerden diezes Feriendomizil auch unseren Freunden weiterempfehlen.
