The Island of Murter has a population of 5100 people and border's North and Central Dalmatia. It is 60 minutes from Zadar and Split, both of which are served by international airports. Murter is the departure point to the Kornati National Marine Park. The 'Kornati' offers sailing enthusiasts, scuba divers and other water fanatic's a once in a life time experience. National Parks located on the Croatian mainland, amongst others Krka, Paklenica and the Plitvice Lakes are within an hour's drive from Murter and are an 'Eldorado' for hikers, climbers and bicyclist's. Sight-seeing is abundant in the historical towns of Split, Sibenik, Trogir and Zadar and are only a short-drive from Murter. On Murter, Olive and Cypress trees set the scene and are complimented by the island's abundant hidden coves and its four villages which have preserved their Mediterranean charm. Murter is easily accessible via a draw-bridge connecting it with the Croatian mainland village of Tisno.
