Pollensa holiday house: Pollensa

We thought this was a lovely villa and feel the photos do not do it justice. The garden has now matured and we loved it. It has wonderful views to the mountains and is in a quiet, valley location. Off the tourist track but very accessible for exploring the island. The shady vine-covered terrace is ideally placed for keeping an eye on children in the pool. We were really surprised at the previous German review. Perhaps the furniture is not very modern and stylish but it is comfortable and characterful. We liked the layout too with bedrooms and en-suites at either end of the living area. Jose and Joanna and their staff were kind and helpful. The villa was cleaned and new sheets provided twice a week - the cleaner even emptied the bins and removed the re-cycling. The gardener/pool attendant was delightful, and he also came at least twice a week. We also enjoyed the option of twice weekly take-away three course Majorcan meals from Can Guillo (the owners nearby agro-tourism farm) The meals were excellent and reasonably priced. And, of course the restaurants of Pollenca are only a short drive away. The villa does lack a proper oven but otherwise the kitchen equipment was fine and the barbecue is super. We had a lovely holiday and would thoroughly recommend this villa! Lysbeth 18/7/09-1/08/09
P.S. The only improvement I would suggest would be a BBC or World Service channel on the television, replacing one of the 13 German channels or CCN news!
