'Antiche Mura', is a spacious thirteenth century town house built right on the walls of the historic centre of Radicondoli. Here you will be strategically placed on the edge of the village with stunning views at all three levels of this historic building,. On the ground floor you enter a large authentic Tuscan kitchen-dining room with a remarkable log fire fit to see through the hardest of winter in full comfort. From here you go, through a separate living room with French windows to a delightful small terrace which dominates the river Cecina valley. Here you must choose whether to eat al fresco or simply enjoy the view.

The cities of Siena, Florence and Pisa are easily accessible for a day trip as well as many other smaller towns and villages (a lot of these offer wine tasting). We recommend the towns of Montepulciano and San Gimignano as not to be missed. One can also reach the picturesque Tuscan coastline for day trips and it is even possible to take a ferry to the island of Elba. Radicondoli and nearby Belforte are medieval castles resembling districts of nearby Siena (40kms). Florence is some 80kms away and takes about one hour by car, San Gimignano is nearer but also takes some 50 mins by car as does Volterra and Massa Marittima (which is conveniently on route to the seaside). The nearest large town is Colle Val d'Elsa which is only 25 minutes drive and has a large open market on Friday morning plus a number of supermarkets and usual shops.

Radicondoli

The village though small has all amenities, there is a bank, post office, three restaurants with bar, three food stores, a pharmacy, a clothes shop and a news agent and general store.

Travel

The nearest airports are Pisa (Ryanair and British Airways) and Florence (Meridiana and British Airways). Although there is a coach service to and from the village two or three times a day, car is recommended for easy reach amenities and surrounding towns.
