Ammoudia is a fishing villaje right at the mouth of the Acheron river (entrance to Hades). A peaceful villaje with a uniques atmosphere. It’s pure Greece. Right on the sea-side and also near the river so you can follow Odyseuss’ footsteps to uncover faraway times. You can find Roman and Turkish remains in this part of Greece and within a radius of 50 km there’s not just fantastic sandy beaches like the one in Ammoudia, but also world-renowned historical sites hardly known at all to a travel brochure.
